    摘要: The aim of the invention is to provide a particularly compact drive design which places particular emphasis on meeting the severe safety requirements for public-transport vehicles. Further aims of the invention are low manufacturing cost and ease of servicing. The single-wheel drive proposed has a vertically mounted electric motor (10) whose shaft (11) is oriented at right angles to the wheel axle (2). Fitted between the motor (10) and the wheel (1) is an angular gear (3), the pinion wheel (7) being mounted directly on an extension (9) to the motor shaft. The gearbox housing (4) is fitted with a flange (6), and the motor casing (19) with a bearing plate (14), a bearing (13) being integrally mounted in the bearing plate (14) with a seal (15) on the side facing the motor. The invention makes it possible for the first time to design a particularly compact drive which is inexpensive to manufacture and easy to service.
