The gas turbine combustor which has excellent thermal fatigue and long life is obtained. A gas turbine employs the combustor.

Molten metal (40) is injected into the mold space upwardly so that it is statically poured into the mold. The circumferential edges of opposing surfaces ofthe wheels (10,12) have surfaces (14,16) inclined in such a manner that the width of the mold space becomes narrower in the direction toward the axis of the wheels (10,12). The molten metal (40) is continuously solidified by the belt (18) and the inclined surfaces (14,16) and withdrawn horizon- tallyfrom the mold space as a cast strip (48) while unsolidified molten metal remains within the upper portion of the solid shell.

In order to provide austenitic single crystal stainless steel having preferable stress corrosion cracking resistance, strength, and irradiation induced embrittlement resistance so as to extend life of nuclear reactor core structure which is used under a high radiation dose environment, a method is disclosed, which comprises the steps of homogeneously dispersing carbides into a parent phase of the austenitic single crystal stainless steel by a two step solution heat treatment, and subsequent an ageing heat treatment after rapid cooling for precipitating fine carbides.

Disclosed are a continuous casting apparatus and an integrated casting and rolling system. The continuous casting apparatus is formed by confronting wide side molds (2) and confronting narrow side molds (1). The narrow side molds are composed of an electrically conductive refractory material and provided with direct heating means. Further, a secondary cooling body is composed of an endless track such as a belt, back-up roll are used, a coil is provided on the backside of the mold, and an electromagnetic force is applied to the molten metal in the mold. An integrated manufacturing system is formed by the combination of the continuous casting apparatus and hot rolling mills.

Current is taken out through a plurality of collecting electrodes 12 electrically connected to the ingot. To obtain improvement in the uniformity of depth of fusion of the ingot, the flow path of the electric current passing from the consumed electrode to the collecting electrodes is moved in the circumferential direction of the ingot during the electroslag remelting, e.g. by rotating either or both of the ingot and the collecting electrodes. Further improvement may be achieved by varying the speed of movement of this flow path as the slag bath ascends the ingot.

A metod of producing forged article by casting a molten alloy steel containing 0.02 to 0.15wt% of niobium and 9 to 12wt% of chromium in a metal mold to form an ingot and subjecting the ingot to a forging. The ingot is formed to have a diameter greater than the height thereby to prevent generation of eutectic NbC and sedimental crystals.
