摘要: According to one embodiment, a pattern discrimination device includes a detector configured to detect, in a landmark included in an input image of a front side of a vehicle from an imaging device that is disposed in the vehicle, a first area, and a second area having a higher surface reflection luminance than, or having a different surface reflectance from, the first area; a storage unit configured to store landmark pattern information discriminated from shapes and positions of the first area and the second area, and rail information in a traveling direction of the vehicle, the rail information being correlated with the landmark pattern information; and a specifying unit configured to acquire, from the storage unit, the rail information corresponding to the landmark pattern information corresponding to the first area and the second area detected by the detector.

摘要: A railway design standard storage unit in a train position detection apparatus according to an embodiment stores in advance a railway design standard of a railway track on which a train travels. A position detection unit detects a position of the train by receiving positioning radio waves from satellites through a reception antenna, and simultaneously detects a position of the train by self-contained navigation based on an input signal from a self-contained navigation sensor. When a result of the train position detection based on the positioning radio waves does not satisfy the railway design standard, the position detection unit corrects the result of the train position detection based on the positioning radio waves with a result of the position detection by self-contained navigation. Accordingly, even a vehicle of a train provided with a position detection system after authentication of the vehicle can suppress degradation of positioning accuracy at a place where the direct waves of the positioning radio waves from the satellites cannot be received.

[Solution] A camera inspection system according to the present embodiment includes an image capturing portion that is mounted on a railway vehicle and captures images of a sign provided around a railway track on which the railway vehicle drives at first and second viewpoints. An arithmetic processor obtains a disparity between a first image of the sign at the first viewpoint and a second image of the sign at the second viewpoint. The arithmetic processor calculates a first distance between the railway vehicle and the sign based on the disparity between the first image and the second image. The arithmetic processor calculates a second distance between the railway vehicle and the sign based on known attribute information related to the size and/or the position of the sign and the length of the attribute information on the first or second image. The arithmetic processor determines whether a difference between the first distance and the second distance is larger than a threshold. A memory stores therein the attribute information.-

The branch track detection unit detects whether there is a branch track branching off from the railway track being detected. The railway track detection result output unit outputs a result of detection by the railway track detection unit and a result of detection by the branch track detection unit.
