摘要: A method of creating a virtual model of a normal anatomy of a pathological knee joint, the method comprising: obtaining a virtual model of a subject knee joint generated from fluoroscopic images of the subject knee joint, the subject knee joint comprising a distal portion of a femur and a proximal portion of a tibia, the subject knee joint exhibiting at least one pathology; determining a plurality of contact regions between the femur and the tibia at a plurality of positions of the subject knee joint; determining a plurality of normal cartilage thicknesses at the plurality of contact regions; determining a plurality of cartilage losses at the plurality of contact regions for each of the plurality of positions of the subject knee joint; and generating a virtual model of a normal anatomy of the subject knee joint by realigning the femur and the tibia of the virtual model of the subject knee joint to correct for the plurality of cartilage losses.

摘要: A method of generating a patient-specific virtual model of a trauma plate for a particular bone, the method comprising:
accessing a bone atlas comprising a plurality of three dimensional bone models of a particular bone;
obtaining a plurality of virtual 3D bone component part surface representations of a respective plurality of bone component parts of a bone;
virtually repositioning one or more of the plurality of virtual 3D bone component part surface representations to form a patient-specific virtual 3D patchwork bone model;
selecting a virtual 3D bone plate template most closely conforming to the virtual 3D patchwork bone model from among a plurality of 3D virtual bone plate templates;
virtually positioning the selected virtual 3D bone plate template onto the virtual 3D patchwork bone model; and
creating a virtual 3D patient-specific bone plate by deforming the selected virtual 3D bone plate template to conform to the virtual 3D patchwork bone model.-

A method of performing a total ankle arthroplasty can comprise: coupling a patient-specific talus pin guide to a talus; coupling a patient-specific tibia pin guide to a tibia; positioning an interlocking device between the patient-specific tibia pin guide and the patient-specific talus pin guide; inserting guide pins into the patient-specific tibia and talus pin guides; removing the patient-specific talus and tibia pin guides from the guide pins; and coupling patient-specific talus and tibia cutting guides to the talus and tibia using at least some of the guide pins to alternatively perform resections on the tibia and talus.
