According to the invention, a transmitted torque estimation threshold value (ECT_threshold) is determined which enables the vehicle movement to be balanced. Then, at start-up a loop for calculating the transmitted torque estimation (ECT) is carried out so long as the calculated value (ECT) does not exceed the threshold value (ECT_threshold). When the threshold is exceeded, an automatic parking brake release command is produced.

The invention relates to a method and device for estimating the temperature (16, 18, 20) in a wet clutch (14) arranged in a casing (26) provided with a cooling oil (24) circuit. Said clutch comprises an electronic control unit (40) receiving input signals of the input oil temperature at the entry of a casing (36), the oil temperature measured at the exit of a casing (38), input φin and φout modes measured by angular speed sensors (28, 30) and the engine torque (C), in processing said signals and transmitting the calculated temperature signals of the clutch plates and the calculated oil temperature at the exit of the casing. The comparison of the calculated temperature and the measured temperature of the oil at the exit of the casing (38) makes it possible to determine the estimation error of the method. Said error taken into account in the method makes it possible to correct the calculation equations in order to correct the estimation error.
