This movement sensor has an integrated circuit (32), which can be connected via an electric wire (24) and which has a measuring transducer and an electronic circuit arrangement for conditioning the measurement signals. The sensor comprises a basic module (10), which is produced by casting or injection molding thermoplastic material, preferably polyamide, using MID (Molded Interconnect Device) technology, and inside of which a permanent magnet (16) is integrated. A packageless integrated circuit (32) is mounted on the MID component using flip-chip technology. The arrangement consisting of the basic module (10), together with the integrated circuit (32) and the permanent magnet (16) as well as the connecting end of the wire (24) are, in another method step, enclosed by an outer encapsulation (42) and assembled to form a rugged modular unit that is well-protected from environmental influences.
