摘要:
The present invention provides a polypeptide represented by the following amino acid sequence: wherein n is 0 or 1 and X represents or a fragment thereof (n = 0: SEQ ID NO:1, n = 1: SEQ ID NO:2), a recombinant DNA coding for the polypeptide, a vector containing the recombinant DNA, the preparation of a transformant carrying the vector, and the production of the polypeptide with the transformant. The invention also provides a method for promoting an increase in the number of platelets in a mammal using a polypeptide having a heparin binding secretory transforming factor 2 (hst-2) activity. The polypeptide can be produced in large amounts, and has hst-2 activity, so that it can be advantageously used as drugs for promoting treatment of burns, wounds, etc., and therapeutic agents for gastrointestinal ulcers. Further, it can be utilized as platelet-increasing agents.

摘要:
Disclosed are (1) an active human NGF protein having 6 cysteine residues in its molecule, in which the first cysteine residue from the N-terminus is bound to the fourth cysteine residue, the second cysteine residue to the fifth cysteine residue, and the third cysteine residue to the sixth cysteine residue to form disulfide bonds, (2) an animal cell which is transformed with a vector containing a gene coding for a human NGF protein and is cloned, (3) the animal cell described in (2), in which a host is a Chinese hamster CHO cell, and (4) a method for producing a human NGF protein which comprises cultivating the animal cell described in (2) or (3) in a medium. The human NGF proteins having specific disulfide bonds can be advantageously used as reagents or therapeutic drugs, and the cloned animal cells can commercially produce the high pure human NGF proteins in large amounts.

Disclosed are respiratory-deficient yeast except Saccharomyces cerevisiae AH22R⁻ , said respiratory-deficient yeast being transformed with a DNA containing a gene encoding a protein foreign to yeast and a method for preparing a protein foreign to yeast described above, which comprises culturing the yeast, and producing and accumulating the protein in a culture. The respiratory-deficient yeast of the present invention can produce a higher amount of protein than its parent strain.
