    摘要: The invention provides for a process for converting methyl mercaptan into C2-C3 olefins, said process comprising the steps: a) providing a gaseous feed stream comprising methyl mercaptan and optionally one or more diluents; b) providing a catalyst composition; c) contacting the gaseous feed stream with the catalyst composition at a temperature ranging from 100°C to 700°C and at a pressure ranging from 0.2 MPa to 20 MPa to convert at least part of the methyl mercaptan into C2-C3 olefins; and d)recovering said C2-C3 olefins and the unconverted methyl mercaptan if any; wherein catalyst composition comprises one or more zeolites with a plurality of pores with a shape of an 8-member ring and in that the one or more zeolites have a Si/AI atomic ratio ranging from 2 to 17 as determined by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry.
