To provide a method for producing ε-caprolactam from a polyamide 6 resin composition, the method achieving both circulation utilization of fossil resources and reduction in global warming gas emissions, and therefore being green and energy-saving. The present invention is a method for producing ε-caprolactam, including bringing a resin composition (A) containing at least polyamide 6 and water (B) heated to a temperature of 290°C or higher and 350°C or lower into contact with each other, wherein the contact is made under a condition that a product of X and Y is 2,000 or less when a mass ratio of the water to the polyamide 6 is represented by X : 1 and a reaction temperature is represented by Y°C.

A method of producing ε-caprolactam from 3-oxoadipic acid which is preferred as a biomass resource is disclosed. The method of producing ε-caprolactam includes: the step 1 of mixing at least one selected from the group consisting of 3-oxoadipic acid and salts thereof with a catalyst and a solvent in the presence of hydrogen to produce 3-hydroxyadipic acid; and the step 2 of reacting the 3-hydroxyadipic acid which is a product of the step 1, a salt or carboxylic acid derivative thereof, or a mixture of these with hydrogen and ammonia.

Provided is a resin composition containing at least a polyamide (A) and modified cyclodextrin (B), the composition containing 80 to 99.9 parts by weight of the polyamide (A) and 0.1 to 20 parts by weight of the modified cyclodextrin (B) with respect to a total 100 parts by weight of the polyamide (A) and the modified cyclodextrin (B). The present invention is capable of providing a resin composition capable of yielding a molded article that is low in cost and exhibits a superior balance between rigidity and toughness.

There is provided a method of economically producing a cyclic poly(phenylene ether ether ketone) composition and a linear poly(phenylene ether ether ketone) with high efficiency in a short time. The production method of the cyclic poly(phenylene ether ether ketone) composition and the linear poly(phenylene ether ether ketone) uses (i) an organic polar solvent of not less than 1.20 liters and not more than 100 liters relative to 1.0 mol of a benzene ring component in a reaction mixture, and (ii) as a base, at least one species selected between sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate, or a base mixture of at least one species selected between sodium carbonate and sodium bicarbonate and at least one species selected among carbonates and bicarbonates of alkali metals having higher atomic numbers than sodium.

The object of the invention is to provide a thermoplastic resin composition having excellent flowability, high crystallization characteristics, high transparency and excellent processability in melt processing to resin molded products, sheets, films, fibers and pipes. The invention provides a thermoplastic resin composition, comprising: 100 parts by weight of (A) a thermoplastic resin; and 0.5 to 50 parts by weight of (B) a cyclic poly(phenylene ether ketone) that is expressed by General Formula (I) given below and has phenylene ketone shown by -Ph-CO- and phenylene ether shown by -Ph-O- as a repeating structural unit:

To provide a collection method capable of collecting ε-caprolactam and a polyamide 6 oligomer in high yield only by depolymerization using a small amount of water and solid-liquid separation with a small energy consumption. The present invention is a method for collecting ε-caprolactam and a polyamide 6 oligomer, including adding a resin composition (A) containing at least polyamide 6 and at least one of water (B) heated to 290°C or higher and 350°C or lower and a polyamide 6 oligomer aqueous solution (B1) heated to 290°C or higher and 350°C or lower to make contact with each other to obtain a reaction mixture (C) containing at least ε-caprolactam, a polyamide 6 oligomer, and water, and subjecting the reaction mixture (C) to a solid-liquid separation (I) in a temperature range not higher than a boiling point of water at an operation pressure to separate and collect a polyamide 6 oligomer in a solid phase, and an ε-caprolactam aqueous solution in a liquid phase.
