摘要: A brake pad 10 is adapted to be used in an opposing type caliper device and can brake a rotation of a disc 200. The brake pad 10 includes a friction material 12 provided on the side of the disc 200 and a back plate 11 bonded to the friction material 12 on the opposite side of the disc 200. The back plate 11 is formed of a back-plate composition including a resin and a plurality of fibers. The back plate 11 has an engagement portion 111 into which an attachment portion 70 of the caliper device 100 is capable of being inserted, and with which the inserted attachment portion 70 is engaged. A thickness of a region of the back plate 11 where the engagement portion 111 is provided is larger than a thickness of a region of the back plate 11 where the engagement portion 111 is not provided.

摘要: A resin composition is used for forming a surface layer coating at least a part of an outer surface of a particle. The particle is adapted to be packed into a fracture formed in a subterranean formation, and the resin composition contains a thermosetting resin and a hydrophilic polymer. It is preferred that the resin composition further contains a surfactant. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide an effect of preventing pieces of core particles from being scattered due to the action of a thermo-setting resin and an effect of improving compatibility with respect to water (that is, fluid repellent with respect to hydrocarbon) due to the action of a hydrophilic polymer in a synergistic manner. This increases conductivity of packed spaces of a subterranean formation (that is, fractures of the subterranean formation) in which coated particles are packed.

摘要: A brake pad 10 can brake a rotation of a disc 200. The brake pad 10 includes a friction material 12 provided on the side of the disc 200 and a back plate 11 bonded to the friction material 12 on the opposite side of the disc 200. The back plate 11 has a plurality of ridges 111 having a non-linear shape and/or a plurality of grooves 112 having a non-linear shape, the ridges and the grooves each formed on a surface of the back plate 11 on the side of the friction material 12 so that a longitudinal direction thereof corresponds to a rotational direction of the disk 200. The friction material 12 is bonded to the back plate 11 so as to make close contact with a surface defining each ridge 111 and/or each groove 112 and the surface of the back plate 11 positioned on the side of the friction material 12. An average height of the ridges 111 or an average depth of the grooves 112 is preferably in the range of 2 to 6 mm. This makes it possible to provide a brake pad 10 having high bonding strength between the friction material 12 and the back plate 11 and having excellent durability, and a caliper device provided with the brake pad 10.
