Abstract:
A lancet driver is provided wherein the driver exerts a driving force on a lancet during a lancing cycle and is used on a tissue site. The driver comprises of a drive force generator for advancing the lancet along a path into the tissue site, and a manual switch for a user interface input.
Abstract:
A body fluid sensing device with a body fluid capture structure and a body fluid measurement sensor positioned in the body fluid capture structure. A capacitance sensor is coupled to the body fluid measurement sensor. The capacitance sensor is used to assist in the positioning of a body part relative to the body fluid capture structure.
Abstract:
A tissue penetration device that may include a lancet module or sampling module. The sampling module may include a slidably disposed lancet, a sterility barrier that is pierceable by the lancet, and a sample chamber in fluid communication with a sample input port. The sampling module may optionally be in a cartridge configuration and include sampling and analyzing functions, which may be integrated.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a pricking system for obtaining a sample of body fluid, comprising a compartment for receiving a lancet supply strip (5) with a number of lancets (6), which are arranged transversely in relation to the longitudinal direction of the lancet supply strip (5), a conveying device, to bring the lancets (6) of the lancet supply strip (5) into a pricking position one after the other by transporting a lancet supply strip (5) that is inserted into the receiving compartment, and a pricking drive, in order to impart a pricking motion to a lancet (6) that is located in the pricking position. The pricking system is distinguished by a bending device (10), to bend a portion of the lancet supply strip (5) in the longitudinal direction of the lancet supply strip (5) and thereby separate from the lancet supply strip (5) a lancet tip (6a) of a lancet (6) for pricking.
Abstract:
A supply of lancets (28) for a multi-use lancing device are carried by a tape (22) and sequentially brought from a storage position to an activating position by advancing the tape around a bend (39). The lancets are non-circular in cross-section along their longitudinal lengths, and in their activating position they extend from the tape such that their sharp tips (31) are available for lancing tissue. The carrying tape can be arranged in reel-to-reel format in a housing having a lancing opening. The lancets can be integral with the tape and activated to move the lancet through the lancing opening by moving the tape along its tape path or by translating a dedicated service loop of the tape. The lancets can also be independent from the tape and activated through the lancing opening by a separate lancing actuator. A test media can be included on the carrying tape and the housing can contain a sensor to yield an integrated lancing and testing device.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention refers to a system comprising disposable medical devices and a packaging strip (1) comprising a plurality of chambers (2) containing the disposable medical devices, the strip being folded along breadthwise running fold lines to form a series of loops, each loop comprising opposing sections (3, 4), the opposing sections of at least some of these loops being sealed to each other thus forming chambers (2) between said sections. The invention also refers to a cartridge (10) containing such a packaging strip.
