摘要: A surgical staple cartridge is disclosed comprising a plurality of staples removably stored within the surgical staple cartridge. The staples comprise staple legs which extend from a staple base portion. The staple legs comprise staple tips configured to pierce tissue and contact a corresponding forming pocket of an anvil of surgical stapling instrument. The staples further comprise zones having different hardnesses.

摘要: A staple cartridge is disclosed. The staple cartridge is insertable into and removable from a jaw of surgical stapling instrument. The staple cartridge comprises a cartridge body including staple cavities and staples removably stored in the staple cavities. Each of the staple cavities includes a bottom opening and a top opening. The staples include features configured to inhibit the staples from falling out of the bottom openings of the staple cavities. The staple cartridge further comprises a firing member configured to eject the staples from the staple cavities through the top openings of the staple cavities. The firing member further comprises one or more features configured to inhibit the firing member from falling out of the bottom of the cartridge body. In various instances, as a result, a cover extending around the bottom of the cartridge body may not be required.

The stent is comprised of three main key design elements: a bioresorbable scaffold, a bioresorbable polymeric coating layer(s), and NO-releasing nanoparticles incorporated in the bioresorbable polymeric coating layer, and optionally also in the scaffold. The NO-releasing nanoparticles are made of nontoxic biocompatible and biodegradable materials; for example a chitosan polymer and optionally a sugar.

The resulting device is a detachable aneurysm coil system which preserves the mechanical geometry and flexibility of the coil, and delivers specific agents to promote wound healing.

摘要: A method for forming a stent with hollow struts is disclosed, comprising the steps of: providing a first tube made from a first material; placing a second tube made from a second material over the first; after a removing step of removing portions of the wall of the first tube, placing a third tube made from the second material inside the first tube; pressing the first, second, and third tubes together; removing portions of the walls of the second tube and the third tube; and processing the remaining material such that material of the first tube is removed without damaging remaining material of the second and third tubes.
