摘要： A liquid solid separator tank has a motor driven recirculating belt having rollers placed therein processing a mixture of materials. The top belt brings wet materials into a collection trough having overflow weirs disposed externally. These weirs permit overflow liquids to flow down towards a main tank; then, a sump pump reintroduces water back into an influent basin to cleanse the mixture once again. Also, the action of a motor driven auger within the trough forces solids towards a dewatering box attached externally thereto. This box has a motor driven rotating cage mounted on moveable rollers and internally attached removable brushes that act to clean the outer surface of the cage as it moves in addition to a stationary high pressure wash. A shroud channels the influent liquid solid mixture towards a filtered water basin disposed directly underneath the lower belt portion permitting cleansed water to be removed therefrom.

The invention is characterized in that the suspension is caused to rotate by means which are arranged at the entrance to the screen basket, and in that the outer edges of the said screw bear against or are immediately adjacent to the screen basket and rotate at a higher speed than does the screen basket so that the screw scrapes the inner wall of the screen basket. The invention also relates to a device for implementing the method, which device comprises a housing (12), a screen basket (20) which is rotatably arranged in the said housing (12) and which is provided with screen openings, a screw body (72) which is rotatably arranged in the said screen basket (20) and which is arranged with a screw blade (79), an inlet (59) to the said screen basket (20) for the pulp suspension which is to be treated, an outlet (46, 52) from the said screen basket (20) for the pulp suspension which has been treated, and on outlet (62, 64) from the said housing (12) for liquid which has been removed. The device is characterized in that the said screen basket (20) is able to be rotated, via a transmission (26) which is arranged with a gearing, by a drive element (30), in that the screw body is able to be rotated, via a transmission (84) which is arranged with a gearing, by the said drive element (30), in that the screw blade (79) of the said screw body (72) moves along the inner side of the screen basket (20), with the gearing of the transmissions (26,84) being chosen so that the screw body (72) rotates faster than does the screen basket (20), so that the screw blade (79) has a scraping effect on the inner side of the screen basket (20), and in that an element (102) for initiating rotation of the pulp suspension is arranged at the inlet (59) to the screen basket (20), which element (102) is able to cause the pulp suspension to rotate when it enters the said screen basket (20).

摘要： Backflushing with internally mounted pistons (146, 46) and cylinders (42, 142) is provided in a pulp treating vertical vessel (11) such as a paper pulp thickener, diffuser, or displacement bleacher. First and second sets of screens (23, 25) are mounted on a supporting arm/conduit (16-20) within the vertical vessel, the first screens (23) mounted directly to the arms and the second screens (25) mounted on top of the first screens. A first cylinder (42) is connected at one open end (43) to the conduit and at the other open end (44) is exposed to the pulp within the vessel. A second cylinder (142) is mounted so that it is concentric with the first cylinder and both ends are in operative communication with the liquid conduit. A piston is mounted within each cylinder by a common vertically extending piston rod (47) which connects them. The pistons and cylinders have different effective diameters. Relative movement between the pistons and cylinders is effected periodically in order to force liquid from within the cylinders into the conduit and ultimately out the screens to provide backflushing of the screens, which prevents clogging.

摘要： A pressure diffuser (10) for paper pulp includes a vertical pressurizable liquid-tight vessel (11) having a pulp inlet (12) at the bottom and a pulp outlet (13) at the top. One or more ring shaped screen elements (15), providing first and second concentric screen surfaces (16), are vertically mounted within the vessel. A number of radially extending header arms (18) mount the screen elements for movement in the vessel and in fluid communication with it. A first linear actuator (37) effects reciprocation of the arms. A cylinder (35), open at both ends, is affixed to the arms and extends both above and below them, and a piston (39) is disposed within the cylinder, below the arms. A second linear actuator (40) is operatively connected to the piston to effect reciprocation of the piston in the cylinder. A guiding conduit (46) surrounds the open end of the cylinder above the arms and guides reciprocation of the cylinder and transports liquid from the arms to an effluent outlet. A perforated jacket (57) surrounding the guiding conduit, nozzles (61) at the vessel wall, and the like introduce liquid into the vessel for treatment of the pulp. The ring shaped screen element is connected to the arms in a manner to allow the best liquid communication between them. In this way pulp can be effectively treated in a pressurized vessel while the screens for treating the pulp are periodically backflushed without causing a surge within the vessel.
