    摘要: An apparatus (20) for continuously extruding shaped articles includes a frictional extrusion source for extruding a feed material (31), a chamber for holding (42, 43) frictionally extruded material received from the extrusion source, a plurality of die chambers (10, 10a), each of the die chambers (10, 10a) receiving extruded material from the holding chamber (42, 43), a conduit (44, 45) for directing extruded material from the holding chamber (42, 43) to each die chamber (10, 10a) for selectively filling each die chamber (10, 10a) with extruded feed material and a monitor (53) for filling of each die chamber (10, 10a) of said plurality of die chambers with extruded feed material. The conduit (44, 45) is responsive to the monitor (53) so that extruded material can be directed from a filled die chamber (10, 10a) to an empty die chamber (10, 10a) for subsequent filling, thereby permitting continuous extrusion.

    摘要: The starting material in a thixotropic forming process for the manufacture of road wheels, fitted ultimately with pneumatic tyres, is an ingot (1) of rheocast metal alloy preheated to the semisolid state: the ingot is injected into a closed die (5) affording a cavity (7) in the shape of the wheel and equipped with independent thermoregulating circuits (6), routed and controlled in such a way as to maintain the wider passages (A) of the cavity at a temperature lower than that of the narrower passages (B); to ensure the die fills properly, the ingot (1) is injected at a variable and controlled velocity, correlated both to the rate at which the alloy spreads through the cavity (7) and to the geometry of the cavity itself, whereupon a pressure much higher than the injection force is applied to the solid-semisolid interface within the alloy, and sustained until full solidification is achieved.

    摘要: A rotary forging apparatus comprises a first rotary ram (3a), a cylindrical second rotary ram (3b), a third rotary ram (3c) and a shaping roller device. The first ram (3a) and the cylindrical second ram (3b) face each other and rotate about a common axis. The third ram (3c) is located in the cylindrical second ram (3b) and can rotate about an axis inclined to the common axis. The third ram (3c) presses a workpiece against the first ram (3a) and makes the disc part of a product. The shaping roller and the second ram (3b) and a side of the first ram make the rim part of the product. The outer surface of the second ram (3b) can keep a tight contact with the workpiece during the forging because of the rotational symmetry of the second ram (3b). The overall contact stabilizes the position of the workpiece and reduces any size error of the product.
