A method and a moulding device (27) for producing a photovoltaic panel (1), particularly a photovoltaic vehicle body panel, are described. The method comprises: providing a sheet-like PV label (3) comprising front side and rear side polymeric foils (9, 11, 13, 15) as well as an interposed solar cell arrangement (17), and preparing a support structure (5) for supporting the photovoltaic label using a moulding device (27) having a core side moulding half (23) and a cavity side moulding half (25) being displaceable relative to each other between an open state and a closed state and enclosing a cavity (33) with an inner surface (35) having a predetermined shape, and further comprising a pre-fixing arrangement (39), a pushing arrangement (41) and an injection arrangement (52). The support structure is prepared by - arranging the PV label between the two moulding halves (23, 25) in the open state, - pre-fixing the PV label adjacent to the concave inner surface (35) using the pre-fixing arrangement (39), - pushing and thereby bending the PV label using a displaceable plunger (43) of the pushing arrangement such that the PV label abuts with a front surface (19) to a recessed portion (45) of the concave inner surface (35), - closing the moulding device and injecting a viscous polymer mass (29) to a rear surface (21) of the PV label (3) using the injection arrangement, and - after solidification of the injected polymer mass, opening the moulding device and removing the PV label with the support structure attached thereto from the moulding device.
