The invention relates to a method for quick, flexible and quality laser welding of plastic articles. In the method, a laser beam is directed via scanner mirrors at an object being welded. According to the invention, in the method, the movement of the scanner mirrors is controlled and adjusted; and the moving speed of the laser beam is increased by increasing the focal distance to be more than 200 mm; and the moving speed of the laser beam is arranged to be more than 10 m/s; and the laser beam is moved several times along a predetermined welding track.

The present invention relates to a plastics edge (1) for items of furniture (2), consisting of a thermoplastic base material which, in the partially melted state, is joinable to the item of furniture, furthermore to a furniture panel (3) having such a plastics edge, and to a method for producing such a furniture panel, in which the plastics edge is melted on the side thereof facing the panel body by means of laser radiation and/or a hot gas or plasma jet and is pressed with the melted surface against the panel body. According to the invention, the plastics edge has a single-layered construction with a substantially homogeneous material composition over the entire cross section of the plastics edge, wherein the thermoplastic base material of the plastics edge is fed a viscosity reducer, as an additive, for improving the melt flux.
