A hollow fiber membrane fluid transport device and its method of manufacture are disclosed wherein the fibers are comprised of Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE), and the potting materials are comprised of fluorocopolymer and or fluoroterpolymer based materials. The potting method described herein, utilizes a compressed chemically resistant fluorocopolymer and or fluoroterpolymer film, allows for ease of manufacture without destruction of the PTFE hollow fibers, with high packing densities, and without the processing complexity of pre-melting, extruding, or chemical crosslinking of any polymeric adhesives. Furthermore, the PTFE hollow fibers can be treated with a fluoropolymeric solvent solution before the chemically resistant film is applied to enhance the adhesion of the PTFE fiber to the film. PTFE hollow fibers, and its respective fluoro-co and terpolymers as potting films, impart high packing densities, superb chemical resistance and temperature resistance without membrane contamination, or low fiber pull strength, as is sometimes observed with standard potting materials such as polyurethane and epoxy.

In a method for processing audio signals composed audio signals (L+R) and (L-R) are derived from left (L) and right (R) audio signals. The energy content of the composed (L-R) audio signals above a predetermined frequency value is measured and compared with a predetermined threshold value. Then, when this energy content falls below said threshold value, a signal derived from and decorrelated with respect to the composed (L+R) audio signal is added to the composed (L-R) signal to obtain an improved composed (L-R) audio signal, and left (L) and right(R) audio signals are obtained back again from the composed (L+R) signal and the improved composed (L-R) audio signal.

A leak-resistant connection (20) between two generally tubular members (22, 26) in which second tubular member (26) is telescopically received in a first generally tubular member (22). There is at least one integral continuous annular stricture (28) formed in the lumen (30) of the first tubular member (22) for engaging and sealing with the second tubular member (26). A second, integral stricture (34) of larger profile may be provided as a stop to abut the end of the second tubular member (26). A method of making the connection (20) is disclosed. The method includes the step of forming the strictures (28, 34) in the tubular member (22) by inserting a grooved mandril (38) into the lumen (30) of the tubular member (22) and heating and applying pressure to the tubular member (22) to form the strictures (28, 34) in the grooves (42, 44) in the mandril (38). The tubular member (22) can be conveniently heated with RF energy applied through the mandril (38).

The invention, called "GI.CA. System", refers to a process of design and construction of artefacts in which is required high structural strength combined with lightness and small size of the structure itself. The main targets of this way of construction are therefore all the hulls of boats and in general the fuselages of the means of transport. The structural development of the artefact is realized through the use of tubes (1) adjacent to one another and arranged longitudinally. Such organized structure is then linked externally and internally by a special biaxial fabric (2). The effects of the invention are: a greater structural strength and a reduced weight, thus saving on costs of propulsion; a greater safety, especially in the marine sector: the air in the tubes is in fact a good reserve of buoyancy; a greater freedom in managing the interior space.
