    The flow controller (700) is further configured to keep the shuttle (1-7) in a buffer area (103) between the racking area (101) and the pick- and deposit area (102) in view of occupancy of the racking area (101) by other shuttles or occupancy of the one or more dedicated pick/deposit stations (121) by other shuttles.
