Abstract:
The present invention relates to coloured fiber cement products as well as to methods for manufacturing such products. In particular, the present invention provides fiber cement products that are coloured in the mass, which fiber cement products at least comprise on at least part of their outer surface one or more cured layers of a coating composition, which composition at least comprises a binder and a pigment and/or a filler and is characterized by a pigment volume concentration (PVC) of between about 1% and about 20%. The present invention further provides processes for producing these coated fiber cement products that are coloured in the mass. Finally, the present invention provides uses of the coloured fiber cement products as building materials. In particular embodiments, the fiber cement products produced by the processes of the present invention can be used to provide an outer surface to walls, both internal as well as external, a building or construction, e.g. as façade plate, siding, etc.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a building material mixture, in particular a filler or plaster compound, the dry weight of which has between 30 and 95 wt [%] of graphite, between 4 and 30 wt [%] of a binder and between 0 and 40 wt [%] of a functional additive.
Abstract:
The invention describes a phosphate-based inorganic binder obtained by reaction between at least one basic constituent and an acidic phosphate salt, in the presence of a retarder which is an X + A - salt, the solubility of which in an aqueous medium, measured at 25°C, is greater than that of the acidic phosphate salt, and in which X + is a cation chosen from alkali metals, alkaline earth metals, zinc, aluminium and the ammonium ion, and A - is an acetate, formate, benzoate, tartrate, oleate, oxalate, bromide or iodide anion.
Abstract:
Methods for cementing a subterranean well and maintaining zonal isolation involve preparing a cement slurry that contains water, an inorganic cement and an expanding agent. The slurry is placed in the annular region between casing and the formation or between two casing strings. After the cement sets, the expanding agent reacts and causes the set cement to be in a state of compression within the annular region. The casing dimensions may fluctuate in response to a temperature change, a pressure change, a mechanical disturbance resulting from a well intervention, or mud contamination or a combination thereof. The expanding agent may further react and maintain a state of compression within the annular region. The state of compression in the annular region may be monitored by acoustic impedance measurements.
Abstract:
A method of colouring cementitious building materials such as concrete is disclosed. The method uses flowable, spray-dried, particulate formulations of inorganic pigments prepared using a selection of formulants that do not substantially effect primary ettringite formation. Quantities of the formulations may conveniently be dispensed into a slurry of cement and water by gravimetric or volumetric means.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a plaster dry mortar containing A) 100 parts by mass plaster; B) at least 20 parts by mass mineral filler; C) an organosilicon compound, which is solid at 20°C and is selected from organosilicate powder C1 and organosilicon compounds C2 which can be produced by reacting a molar equivalent of silane S, selected from hydrocarbon trihalogen silane, hydrocarbon trihydrocarbon oxysilane, or mixtures thereof, or partial hydrolysates thereof, with polyhydroxy compounds P in a molar ratio such that there are 0.3 to 1.3 molar equivalents hydroxy radicals per molar equivalent halogen or hydrocarbon oxy radical; D) a fatty acid compound, which is selected from fatty acid D1, fatty acid salt D2, and fatty acid ester D3.
