A method of cementing in a subterranean formation comprising the steps of: (A) introducing a cement composition into the subterranean formation, the cement composition comprising: (i) cement; (ii) water; and (iii) a high-density additive selected from the group consisting of silicon carbide, sintered bauxite, and any combination thereof, wherein the cement composition has a density of at least 16 pounds per gallon; and (B) allowing the cement composition to set. According to an embodiment, the high-density additive is in a concentration of at least 30% by weight of the cement. A cement composition for use in an oil or gas well comprises: (A) cement; (B) water; and (C) a high-density additive selected from the group consisting of silicon carbide, sintered bauxite, and a combination thereof, wherein the high-density additive is in a concentration of at least 30% by weight of the cement, and wherein the cement composition has a density of at least 16 pounds per gallon.

An aqueous solution of divalent cations, some or all of which are derived from a waste source of metal oxides, may be contacted with CO2 and subjected to precipitation conditions to provide compositions comprising carbonates. In some embodiments, a combustion ash is the waste source of metal oxides for the aqueous solution containing divalent cations. In some embodiments, a combustion ash is used to provide a source of proton-removing agents, divalent cations, silica, metal oxides, or other desired constituents or a combination thereof.

According to the invention, aggregates are used that have the same salt content as the seawater. Seawater is used as the mixing water. Das feste Zusatzmittel zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass ein flüssiges Zusatzmittel 1 in einem ein mikroporösen Träger 2 angeordnet ist. Damit lassen sich hydraulisch abbindende Zusammensetzungen 3 formulieren, welche bedeutend bessere Lagerstabilität als die entsprechend hydraulische Zusammensetzung, der das flüssige Zusatzmittel 1 direkt beigemengt wurde. Weiterhin offenbart die Erfindung ein Verfahren zur Sanierung von ausgehärteten hydraulischen Zusammensetzungen wie Beton, und damit eine Möglichkeit eines Korrosionsschutzes von Armierungseisen in bereits ausgehärteten hydraulischen Zusammensetzungen.
