The invention relates to aqueous coating compositions containing the following: A) 5.0 to 50.0 wt. % solid epoxide resins that are water-dispersible at 20 °C; B) 5.0 to 55.0 wt. % water-dilutable epoxide resin hardeners; C) 0.1 to 10.0 wt. % fibres; D) 0 or 0.1 to 5.0 wt. % wax-based open time extenders; E) 0 or 0.1 to 5.0 wt. % rheology additives; F) 5.0 to 70.0 wt. % fillers; G) 0 or 0.1 to 20.0 wt. % water; and H) 0 to 70 wt. % other additives and/or processing agents. The sum of the weight percentages of the components A) to H) is 100 wt. % and the conversion products of bisphenol-A and/or bisphenol-F with E-pichlorohydrin are excluded as component A). The inventive compounds are particularly suitable for use as stopping and insulating materials.
