The object of providing a method for producing a container made of aluminium sheets with which containers with decorative visible aluminium surfaces can be produced with little effort is achieved by the container being at least partially prefabricated by shaping and/or joining the aluminium sheets that are visible on the finished container and subsequently subjecting the entire, at least prefabricated container to a surface treatment by mechanical blasting.
