The behavior of a panel component in the plate thickness direction can be analyzed with greater accuracy. A joint structure in which a panel component and a reinforcing component facing together are connected through one or more elastic adhesives is modeled. A panel component behavior analysis method analyzes the behavior of the panel component by finite element analysis using a computer. From actually measured heating or cooling data of the elastic adhesive, an elastic coefficient including change in elastic coefficient of the elastic adhesive in response to temperature change and using temperature as a parameter is determined. The determined elastic coefficient using temperature as a parameter and a thermal expansion coefficient are set as physical property conditions of the elastic adhesive. The behavior of the panel component is then analyzed in a temperature change condition in which a temperature change is applied to the joint structure in a previously-set temperature range.

Provided are methods and systems for forming piezoelectric coatings on power line cables using sol-gel materials. A cable may be fed through a container with a sol-gel material having a piezoelectric material to form an uncured layer on the surface of the cable. The layer is then cured using, for example, infrared, ultraviolet, and/or other types of radiation. The cable may be suspended in a coating system such that the uncured layer does not touch any components of the system until the layer is adequately cured. Piezoelectric characteristics of the cured layer may be tested in the system to provide a control feedback. The cured layer, which may be referred to as a piezoelectric coating, causes resistive heating at the outer surface of the cable during vibration of the cable due transmission of alternating currents and environmental factors.

A method and apparatus are provided for characterizing a product sample for example in comparison to a reference sample using a sensor such as a gas chromatograph or a MOS sensor. This characterization may comprise an indication of whether or not the product sample conforms to a quality criterion. The comparison of the sensor output measurements for the product sample is compared to maximum and minimum value curves, which may be derived from measurements of the reference sample, whereby adjacent samples outside the envelope defined by these maximum and minimum values are grouped together. A dissimilarity index may be determined for the anomalous values as a whole, or on a per group basis. The groups may be classified depending on the shape they describe, in particular the presence, or not, of peaks, and correspondingly the shape of the corresponding part of the envelope. These determinations may then be used as the basis of the conformity indication, and also the basis for attempting to identify the cause of any anomalies, in particular the identification of foreign components.

The heat resistant spheroidal graphite cast iron further includes barium (Ba) in a range of 0.0045 - 0.0075 wt%. A content ratio of chrome (Cr) and barium (Ba) (Cr/Ba) is in a range from about 26 to about 89. The heat resistant spheroidal graphite cast iron may have an improved high temperature tensile strength.

The fill level sensor is set up to emit waves into an emission region of the tank, and the fill level can be measured by using a propagation time measurement of the waves reflected by a liquid surface and striking the fill level sensor again. At least one first reference surface extends at least partially into the emission region and is at a first distance from the fill level sensor. The at least one first reference surface is disposed on a separate calibration component mounted on an outer side of a housing of the delivery unit. A tank for storing liquid additive, a motor vehicle and a method for monitoring a fill level are also provided.
