The switch may be disposed on a first substrate (52) and the switch control circuitry (58) may be disposed on a second substrate (54). The method may also include receiving a measurement of a temperature of the downhole device (10) and, when the temperature exceeds a threshold, using the switch control circuitry (58) to open the switch to prevent power from being provided to the first electronics (36) of the downhole device.
