The present invention relates to a circuitry and a method for converting an analog signal to a digital value representation, said circuitry (10) comprising: an incremental sigma-delta analog-to-digital converter, ADC, (20); a first input line (12) for providing a primary analog signal representing a sensor measurement to the incremental sigma-delta ADC (20), a second input line (14) for providing a secondary analog signal to the incremental sigma-delta ADC (20), said circuitry (10) being configured such that the incremental sigma-delta ADC (20) receives the primary analog signal during a first period ( T ADC1 ) and receives the secondary analog signal during a second period ( T ADC2 ), and said circuitry (10) further comprising a filter (30), said filter (30) being configured to weigh the digital values in a sequence of digital values output by the incremental sigma-delta ADC (20) and to output a single digital value representing the sensor measurement.

The invention is directed to a novel sampling system having a sampling device responsive to an analog input signal and a reference signal for providing corresponding charges. A switching circuit is provided to supply the input signal and the reference signal to the sampling device. The switching circuit is controlled to supply the input signal and the reference signal to the sampling device so as provide a substantially zero total charge taken by the sampling device from a source of the input signal. One application of the foregoing is in analog-to-digital conversion.

A signal processing circuit includes: an AD converter configured to quantize an input signal, whose amplitude changes in accordance with temperature, within a set voltage range and convert the quantized input signal into a digital signal; and a setting circuit configured to set the voltage range so as to be wider when the input signal is greater in amplitude in accordance with the temperature and so as to be narrower when the input signal is smaller in amplitude in accordance with the temperature.

Hierzu ist ein digital arbeitender Logikbaustein (2) vorgesehen, der mit einem Steuereingang (7) versehen ist, an den über einen A/D-Wandler (6) Steuersignale zuführbar sind, mit denen das digitale Ausgangssignal des Logikbausteins (2) beeinflussbar ist, das auf einen Baustein oder eine Baugruppe zur Wandlung dieses Ausgangssignals in eine analoge oder quasi-analoge Steuergröße für den Leistungshalbleiter (3) geschaltet ist.
