摘要： A home gateway for adapting a Universal Serial Bus (USB) modem includes a system drive module; a wide area network (WAN) connection management module; a drive adaption module, which determines the mode of the USB modem, adapts a drive of an application layer interface of the USB modem and transmits a drive adaption complete message to an application adaption module; and the application adaption module, which selects a corresponding initialization process, initializes an application layer of the USB modem, transmits an initialization complete message to the WAN connection management module and performs a network connection via the WAN interface management module. A method for adapting the USB modem is also disclosed. The home gateway and method can reduce the economic burden of users, and facilitate the popularization of home gateway products and a wireless net surfing service via the USB modem.

The method for communication between the UE and network based on the NAS protocol messages and operations is implemented with the involvement a UE, an MME, and an old MME or an old Serving General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) Support Node (SGSN) to which the UE has been attached before so as to facilitate discovering a best node using the UE information acquired from the old MME or old SGSN during the communication between the UE and the network, resulting in a reduction of a communication delay between the UE and network and an improvement of communication efficiency.

摘要： A method of paging a telecommunication device in a communication system that includes a first and a second wireless communication system. The second wireless communication system comprises a network controller that communicatively couples the telecommunication device to the wireless first communication system. A link is established via an interface between the network contoller and the wireless first comunication system whose services are accessed by the telecommunication device via the network controller while the telecommunication device is in the second communication system. A TCP/IP connection is esablished between the network controller and the telecommunication device. A paging message identifying the telecommunication device is received at the network controller from the first wireless communication system. At the network controller, a set of messages is exchanged with the telecommunication device over the TCP/IP connection, wherein the set of messages includes a paging request message sent from the network controller to the identified telecommunication device.

摘要： A method for performing a registration of a telecommunication device in a communication system comprising a wireless first communication system comprising a wireless radio access network and a core network comprising a mobile switching center, MSC, and a second communcation system comprising a network controller that provides access to the core network through the MSC. A TCP/IP connection is esablished between the telecommunication device and the network controller. A registration message is sent to the network controller for registering the telecommunication device to access communication services of the second communication system. A registration acknowlegement message is received from the network controller when the telecommunication device is authorized to access the communication services of the second communication system. The registration acknowledgement message comprises a set of operating parameters associated with the second communication system. After registering the telecommunication device, a paging message is received from the network controller over the TCP/IP connection.
