Different supports (3, 23) for different positioning devices (4, 20) can be fastened to the supporting body (2), whereby the inventive device can be optimally adapted to perform different fitting tasks.

There are provided an apparatus and a method for mounting electronic components with which the electronic components can be reversed up and down and mounted onto a circuit board in a short mounting process time by performing picking up, delivering and receiving between heads, and mounting onto the circuit board of the electronic components in parallel. A plurality of reverse-supply heads (25) are mounted on a component supply holder (24) for performing indexing rotation while a plurality of mounting heads (33) are mounted on a component mounting holder (32) for performing indexing rotation in synchronization therewith. By (i) picking up an electronic component (19), (ii) delivering the electronic component from the reverse-supply head to the mounting head, and (iii) mounting the electronic component (14) onto the circuit board (15) at prescribed positions, operations from (i) to (iii) can be carried out in parallel. Thus, the electronic components can be mounted onto the circuit board in a short process time.

A continuously variable transmission has dual driving connections extending between a first shaft and a second shaft. The driving connections generally include a drive pulley, a driven pulley and a belt. The pulleys each comprise a fixed portion and an axially moveable portion. Movement between the two portions changes an effective diameter of the pulley. The moveable portions of the drive pulley are positioned next to one another on the first shaft and the moveable portions are interposed between the fixed portions of the drive pulleys. The fixed portions of the driven pulleys, on the other hand, are interposed between the moveable portions. The driven pulleys are free to rotate relative to the second shaft. A differential is positioned between the fixed portions of the driven pulleys, connects the two fixed portions and transfers the torque from the driven pulleys to the second shaft.

The present invention relates to a device for positioning electronic circuits arranged on a foil (2), such as chips (1) on a circuit card (11), a ceramic substrate or the like, using a ball-connection method. The chips (1) are lifted from the foil (2) by needles (4) located under said foil and are further picked up by a needle with a suction cup (3) or by a suction cup that rotates said chips (1) by 180°. The chips are then received by another needle with a suction cup (10) and positioned on the circuit card (11) for direct connection of the contact lines. The needles (4) used for lifting the chips (1) as well as the needle with the suction cup (3) for receiving said chips (1) are capable of synchronous and mainly rectilinear or vertical displacement. The needle with the suction cup (3) is placed in a holder (5) which is mounted in an arm (6) so as to be capable of movement, wherein said arm is driven by a drive organ (9) in order to carry out the 180° rotation movement. The additional needle with the suction cup (10) is also arranged in a holder (12) that provides it with four degrees of freedom, i.e. along the axes x, y, z and rotation.
