There is provided a silica sol dispersed in a nitrogen-containing solvent and a silica-containing resin composition (in particular, an insulating resin composition) containing a nitrogen atom-containing polymer. A silica sol comprising silica particles containing aluminum atoms and having an average primary particle diameter of 5 to 100 nm, the silica particles being dispersed in a nitrogen-containing solvent, wherein the aluminum atoms are bonded to the surfaces of the silica particles in an amount in terms of Al 2 O 3 of 800 to 10,000 ppm/SiO 2 . The silica particles are bonded to a silane compound or a hydrolysate of the silane compound. The nitrogen-containing solvent is an amide solvent. The nitrogen-containing solvent is dimethylacetamide, dimethylformamide, N-methylpyrrolidone, or N-ethylpyrrolidone. The insulating resin composition comprising the silica sol and a nitrogen-containing polymer. The nitrogen-containing polymer is polyimide, polyamide, polyamic acid, polyamideimide, polyetherimide, or polyesterimide. An insulation-coated conductor wire produced by insulation coating of a conductor wire with the insulating resin composition.

There is provided a dispersion comprising colloidal silica particles and zinc cyanurate particles and a coating composition comprising the dispersion, in order to sufficiently exhibit a function such as the inhibition of corrosion of a metal surface. A dispersion in which dispersoid particles comprising colloidal silica particles and zinc cyanurate particles are dispersed in a liquid medium. The colloidal silica particles may have an average particle diameter of 5 to 500 nm, and the dispersion may contain 0.1 to 40% by mass of the colloidal silica particles in terms of SiO 2 concentration. Primary particles of the zinc cyanurate particles may have a major axis length of 50 to 1000 nm and a minor axis length of 10 to 300 nm as observed with a transmission electron microscope, and may have a ratio of the major axis length to the minor axis length of 2 to 25, and the dispersion may contain 0.1 to 50% by mass of the zinc cyanurate particles in terms of solids content. A ratio of the colloidal silica particles to the zinc cyanurate particles may be 1:0.01 to 100 in terms of colloidal silica : zinc cyanurate mass ratio, and a total solids content of the colloidal silica particles and the zinc cyanurate particles may be 0.1 to 50% by mass. The liquid medium may be water or an organic solvent. A method for producing a coating composition, comprising a step of mixing the dispersion and a resin emulsion using a liquid dispersion machine.

In the present invention are provided a method for preparing a silica aerogel-containing blanket, and a blanket which includes a silica aerogel and is manufactured using the same, wherein the method includes a step for preparing a reaction solution by reacting a silazane-based surface modification agent with an alcohol-based compound, a step for preparing a silica gel-base material composite by adding a silica precursor, water, and a polar organic solvent to the reaction solution to prepare a silica sol, and then immersing a base material for a blanket in the prepared silica sol to gelate the silica sol, and a step for drying the silica gel-base material composite. Through the preparing method, a silica aerogel-containing blanket may be manufactured without a separate surface modification step and by using a minimal amount of a surface modification agent, wherein the blanket has low thermal conductivity and excellent mechanical flexibility by including a silica aerogel having high hydrophobicity along with excellent physical properties, in particular, high porosity.

[Solution] Disclosed is a method for producing surface-modified silica nanoparticles comprising: preparing a first silica nanoparticle dispersion containing silica nanoparticles and an aqueous dispersion medium; replacing the aqueous dispersion medium in the first silica nanoparticle dispersion with an organic dispersion medium comprising at least one selected from cyclic esters or cyclic amides, to obtain a second silica nanoparticle dispersion; and mixing the second silica nanoparticle dispersion with a silane coupling agent represented by the formula (1): (each R 1 is independently a hydrocarbon group of C 1 to C 20 and R 2 is a hydrocarbon group of C 1 to C 3 ), to modify the surface of the silica nanoparticles.
