    摘要: In order control the boiling point of the coolant in an engine wherein the coolant is boiled and the vapor used as a vehicle for removing heat, (a) the amount of liquid coolant retained in a radiator in which the vapor is condensed to its liquid form, is controlled to determine the radiator surface area available for the vapor to release its latent heat and (b) the cooling assistance provided by a fan is regulated. With this arrangement course temperature control is provided by controlling the amount of coolant in the radiator while finer control is provided by controlling the fan.

    摘要: The refrigeration system of the invention comprises a vapour generator member (3) connected to a condenser (4) which is itself connected, by way of a pressure reduction valve (6), to an evaporator (5) connected to an absorber (2) which receives the liquid present in the lower zone of the generator (3) and from which liquid is fed to the upper zone of the generator (3), there being provided in the generator (3) a heat exchanger through which the engine cooling liquid flows, the generator member (3) and absorber member (2) containing a refrigerant fluid and an absorbent fluid, the absorbent fluid being able to absorb or dissolve the refrigerant fluid, which can itself be distilled or separated from the absorbent fluid by the addition of heat which is supplied to the generator (3) by the heat exchanger present in it, and be condensed and vaporised under the temperature and pressure conditions prevailing in the condenser (4) and evaporator (5) respectively.

    摘要: A valve seat structure for an automotive thermostatic fluid control valve device is disclosed, which comprises a rigid fluid flow control member (20) which includes a cylindrical wall (24) which forms a fluid flow passage and an annular base (28) which encompasses the cylindrical wall. An elastomeric sealing or engagement member (30) resiliently encompasses the cylindrical wall and is clamped between two portions (90, 92) of a fluid conduit to position the valve seat structure within the fluid conduit. The elastomeric sealing member (30) is also engageable by a movable valve member (80) to control fluid flow through the fluid flow passage. The cylindrical wall (24) extends beyond the elastomeric sealing member (30) and protects the elastomeric sealing member (30) against the forces of fluid flow.

    摘要: The deblocking arrangement of a damaged thermostat according to the invention is suitable to be inserted in the cooling circuit of a thermal engine. The deblocking arrangement comprises a thermostat (9) housed in a body (7) through which a stud (4) is engaged. When the cooling fluid passage is cut off due to a defective operation of the thermostat (9), the passage of the cooling fluid can be achieved again by acting manually outside the body, on the stud (4). In an embodiment of the invention a threated stud (4) is engaged with the movable parts of the thermostat (9), so that a forced operation of the thermostat (9) can be achieved by acting manually on the threaded stud (4).

    摘要: In order to rapidly bring the temperature of the coolant in the coolant jacket of an evaporative type cooling system to a derived target value, both the rate of heat exchange between the condenser or radiator of the system and the surrounding ambient atmospheric air and the amount of coolant in the cooling circuit are varied in a manner to change the pressure and therefore the boiling point of the coolant. With the invention coolant is positively pumped to and from a reservoir which is maintained at atmospheric pressure into and out of a cooling circuit which is hermetically sealed during engine operation.
