A system for feeding air to an internal combustion engine of a motor-vehicle comprises a heat exchanger (IC) arranged along a duct (3) for feeding air, downstream of a supercharging compressor (SC), to cool a flow of air fed by the air compressor (SC), by means of a fluid that circulates in a cooling circuit of the engine. The system also comprises an evaporator (E2), interposed in the air feed duct (3) downstream of the heat exchanger (IC), to further cool the air flow by means of a coolant that circulates in an air conditioning circuit (A/C) of the motor-vehicle. The air conditioning (A/C) circuit of the motor-vehicle comprises a coolant compressor (CO) and an electronic controller (ECU) configured to control the activation of the coolant compressor (CO), depending on the request for air conditioning of the passenger compartment of the motor-vehicle, and the request for cooling the air fed to the engine. In particular the electronic controller (ECU) is configured to enable the coolant compressor (CO) to be activated only when the engine load is below a certain threshold.

The present invention relates to a system for converting thermal energy to mechanical energy in a vehicle. The system comprises a line circuit (35), a pump (36) for recirculating a medium in the line circuit, at least one evaporator (31, 32, 38) in which the medium is caused to absorb thermal energy from a heat source (4, 28) so that it becomes vaporised, a turbine (39) adapted to being driven by the vaporised medium in order to generate mechanical energy, and a condenser arrangement (24, 42) in which the medium is caused to give off thermal energy so that it condenses. The condenser arrangement comprises a first condenser (24) in which the medium gives off thermal energy to coolant which circulates in said cooling circuit, and a second condenser (42) which is situated downstream of the first condenser (24) with respect to the medium's direction of flow in the line circuit (35) and in which the medium gives off thermal energy to air at the temperature of the surroundings.
