    摘要: A process for purifying a naphthalenic carboxylic acid comprising contacting at a temperature below about 575 °F a mixture comprising an impure naphthalenic carboxylic acid and a solvent in the presence of hydrogen gas with a noble metal on carbon catalyst. The process results in reduced amounts of organic impurities in the purified acid when compared to other purification processes.

    摘要: Disclosed is the use of esters which comprise branched alkyl groups and represent reaction products of alcohols of general formula (I) R1OH, wherein R1 represents a branched alkyl radical containing 10 to 40 C atoms, with a) aliphatic dicarboxylic acids of general formula (II) HOOC-R2-COOH, wherein R2 represents a branched or linear, saturated alkyl radical containing 0 to 34 C atoms, or b) saturated monocarboxylic acids of general formula (III) R3-COOH, wherein R3 represents a branched alkyl radical composed of 3 to 39 C atoms, or c) saturated monocarboxylic acids of general formula (III), wherein R3 represents a linear alkyl radical composed of 3 to 29 C atoms, or d) a mixture of at least two of said acid groups a) to c), as lubricants, provided that the esters comprising branched alkyl groups have an oxidation resistance of at least 1000 hours in an oxidation resistance test (e.g. according to DIN EN ISO 4263-3) and are compatible with sealing materials (e.g. according to ASTM D 471). Also disclosed are lubricants containing the inventive esters that comprise branched alkyl groups at amounts of 0.1 to 99.5 percent by weight relative to the total amount of lubricant.
