The present invention addresses the problem of providing: a method for gasifying a carbonaceous fuel, the method allowing the carbonaceous fuel to be gasified in high yield; a method for operating an iron mill that uses the carbonaceous fuel by gasifying the same in high yield; and a method for producing gasified gas, the method allowing the gasified gas to be produced from the carbonaceous fuel in high yield. This problem is solved by supplying the carbonaceous fuel and a gasifying agent that includes H 2 , CO 2 , and H 2 O into a fluidized bed gasifier that uses quicklime as a fluidizing medium.

A bottom fraction of a product of a hydrocatalytic reaction is gasified to generate hydrogen for use in further hydrocatalytic reactions. In one embodiment, an overhead fraction of the hydrocatalytic reaction is further processed to generate higher molecular weight compounds. In another embodiment, a product of the further processing is separated into a bottom fraction and an overhead fraction, where the bottom fraction is also gasified to generate hydrogen for use in further hydrocatalytic reactions.

The invention concerns a method of purifying a raw synthesis gas originating from the pyrolysis and/or gasification of a carbonized material charge by destruction of at least a portion of the tars contained in the gas, comprising the following steps: a/' introducing the raw gas into the sealed chamber, referred to as the calender, of a heat exchanger with pipes and a calender, and cooling it therein, so as to condense at least a portion of the tars contained in the gas on the inner surfaces of the calender; b/ recovering, at the outlet of the calender, the gas free of the portion of condensed tars; c/ stopping the introduction of raw gas according to step a/; d/ regenerating the inside of the calender, comprising at least one: dl/ combustion step in order to burn at least the portion of condensed tars present on the inner surfaces of the calender.
