    Abstract: A backflow preventer, comprising one or a plurality of reducing rings (61) that are disposed in a pipeline (11); the outer edges of the reducing rings (61) are connected to the inner wall of the pipeline (11); the plurality of reducing rings (61) are arranged along the axis of the pipeline (11); and the actual internal area of the reducing rings (61) are gradually decreased in the axial direction of the reducing rings. Further disclosed is an engine EGR system comprising the backflow preventer. The backflow preventer can generate, according to different flowing directions in a pipeline, throttling losses of different degrees; when an air flows in a direction (forward direction) in which the actual internal area of the reducing rings decreases, the throttling loss is small; and when then air flows in a direction (reverse direction) in which the actual internal area of the reducing rings increases, the throttling loss is large. Therefore, the reducing rings are capable of suppressing reverse flow and promoting forward flow when air reciprocates in the pipeline, and thereby preventing the air from backflow in the pipeline.

    Abstract: Die Erfindung betrifft einen Verbrennungsmotor, welcher mit seiner Einlassseite mit einem Ansaugtrakt und mit seiner Auslassseite mit einem Abgassystem verbunden ist. Das Abgassystem weist einen motornahen Katalysator, insbesondere einen Oxidationskatalysator und einen unmittelbar stromabwärts des motornahen Katalysators angeordneten Partikelfilter auf. Eine Niederdruck-Abgasrückführung verbindet den Abgaskanal unmittelbar stromabwärts des Partikelfilters mit dem Ansaugtrakt. Dabei ist in der Niederdruck-Abgasrückführung ein Abgas-Rückführungs-Kühler vorgesehen, welcher räumlich entkoppelt von der heißen Auslassseite an einer um 90° gedrehten Seite des Verbrennungsmotors angeordnet ist.
    Die Erfindung betrifft ferner eine Abgasnachbehandlungsvorrichtung für einen solchen Verbrennungsmotor. Es ist vorgesehen, dass der Niederdruck-Abgasrückführungs-Kühler an einer Stirnseite des Motorblocks des Verbrennungsmotors und somit 90° versetzt und beabstandet von dem Abgaskrümmer angeordnet ist.

    Abstract: In an engine 70 including an EGR apparatus 91 which refluxes a portion of exhaust gas from an exhaust manifold 71 to an intake manifold 73 as EGR gas, it is an object of the present invention of the application to improve assembling operability of a differential pressure sensor 163 which detects a differential pressure between intake pressure of the intake manifold 73 and exhaust pressure in the exhaust manifold 71. According to the engine 70 of the invention of the application, the differential pressure sensor 163 is mounted on a head cover 160 which covers an upper portion of a cylinder head 72. An intake pressure taking-out passage 166 which is in communication with the intake manifold 73 is formed in the cylinder head 72. An intake pressure introducing passage 169 which is connected to the differential pressure sensor 163 is formed in the head cover 160. The intake pressure taking-out passage 166 and the intake pressure introducing passage 169 are in communication with each other. According to this configuration, a stay which is for exclusive use for mounting the differential pressure sensor 163 and an external pipe for taking intake pressure into the differential pressure detecting means 163 become unnecessary.
