    摘要: NEW MATERIAL:A compound of the formula [R is CnH2n+1 (n is an integer 6-22)]. EXAMPLE:Mono-n-heptyl p-phenylenediacrylate. USE:Useful as a raw material and intermediate for high polymers, raw material for various photosensitive resins, raw material for display materials, various optical materials and recording materials, etc. PREPARATION:A dialkyl p-phenylenediacrylate is reacted with an alkali matal alcoholate in an alcohol consisting of the same residue as the alkyl group constituting the ester to give the aimed compound of the formula. The metal alcoholate and the p-phenylenediacrylic acid are used in equimolar amounts to carry out the reaction.

PROCESS:A 4-substituted acetophenone is reacted with ethyl bromoacetate in the presence of zinc by the Reformatsky reaction to give ethyl 2-hydroxy-2-(4-substituted phenyl)-propionate, which is dehydrated with potassium hydrogensulfate, and hydrolyzed to form the objective compound of formula II.
