Abstract: PURPOSE:To utilize air in recess grooves sufficiently in a diesel engine having an auxiliary chamber provided with intake valves in the recess grooves by forming the recess grooves on the inwall surface of a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION:A pair of recess grooves 13 are formed on the inwall surface 3a of a cylinder head, and intake valves 5 are arranged respectively in the respective grooves 13. A nozzle hole 10 of an auxiliary chamber is arranged between the pair of intake valves 5 in the peripheral part on the inwall surface 3a of the cylinder head on the opposite side of exhaust valves 7. Width l2 of the nozzle hole 10 in the lateral direction to the blowout direction of combustion gas from the nozzle hole 10 is set larger than an interval l1 between the pair of intake valves 5. A part of unburnt gas blown out from the nozzle hole 10 together with the combustion gas is sent into the recess grooves 13, and air in the recess grooves 13 is used to burn this unburnt gas.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To increase an amount of fresh air supplied to a sub-chamber by opening an injection port of the sub-chamber in the vicinity of a cylinder head inner wall surface, being a portion between a pair of exhaust valves and opposed to an intake valve. CONSTITUTION:A pair of exhaust valves 7 are arranged on one side of a cylinder head inner wall surface 3a, while at least one intake valve 5 is arranged on the other side of the cylinder head inner wall surface 3a. An jetting injection port 10 of a sub-chamber is opened in the vicinity of the cylinder head inner wall surface 3a, being a portion between the paired exhaust valves 7 and opposed to the intake valve 5. Combusted gas is drawn out of the sub-chamber due to the combusted gas abruptly discharged from the exhaust valves 7 at the opening time thereof. A large amount of fresh air is therefore supplied to the sub-chamber.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce resistance received by each-spring in an internal combustion engine formed in the upper wall surface of a cylinder head with respective spring receiving hole for receiving the lower ends of intake and exhaust valve urging springs and oil dropping holes by draining oil in the respective spring receiving holes to the oil dropping holes through an oil guide groove. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder head 1 is formed in the nearly flat upper wall surface 10 with receiving holes 12, 14 for receiving the lower ends of an intake valve urging spring 11 and exhaust valve urging spring 13. An oil dropping hole 28 is formed in the upper wall surface 10 at the opposite side to the exhaust valve 4 with reference to bridging parts 24, 25 affording communication between boss parts 23 or the like of adjacent head bolt holes 22. Then, the cylinder head is formed on the upper wall surface 10 respectively with an oil guide groove 29 interconnecting these spring receiving holes 12, 14, an oil guide groove 30 interconnecting a pair of spring receiving holes 14 and an oil guide groove 31 interconnecting the spring receiving hole 14 and the oil dropping hole 28 so that oil, flowing into the respective spring receiving holes 12, 14 can be drained into the oil drooping hole 28 through the oil guide grooves 29-31.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To always ensure a smooth ignition combustion by jetting a fuel to an exhaust valve or intake valve after arranging a fuel injection valve in an opening on a cylinder inner wall, and contriving to direct the fuel reflected by the valve in an ignition plug direction. CONSTITUTION:On a cylinder inner wall 3a is provided a mask wall 10 spanning the whole length of the dia. of the inner wall 3a along the dia. through the space between a first intake valve 5a and a second exhaust valve 6b, with respect to which wall 10 an ignition plug 7 is arranged on the side of exhaust valves 6a, 6b. A spherical groove 12 is formed on a cylinder side surface 11 of a horn like member of a first exhaust valve 6a. On a cylinder inner wall 4a is formed an opening 13 opened and closed by piston 2, while on the inside of which wall 4a is arranged a fuel injection valve 14. An opening 13 is formed below the first intake valve 5a to direct the fuel ignited from a fuel ignition valve 14 to the groove 12, and thus directing the fuel reflected on the groove 12 to the ignition plug 7.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To narrow down the stability point of idling revolution to one single point for stabilizing the idling revolution by retarding the ignition timing when the idling revolution of an internal combustion engine becomes higher than a prescribed revolution, and on the other hand by advancing the ignition timing when it becomes lower. CONSTITUTION:A two-cycle internal combustion engine has, for example, six cylinders from 1 to 6, and for each of the cylinders 1 to 6 an ignition plug 47 is provided. And respective cylinders 1 to 6 are connected to a surge tank 8 via respective branch pipes 7, and on each branch pipe 7 a fuel injection valve 9 is provided. On the other hand, a crank-angle sensor 28 and a cylinder discriminating sensor 29 are connected to the input port 25 of an electronic control unit 20 respectively, and further respective fuel injection valves 9 and respective ignition plugs 47 are connected to an output port 26 via respective driving circuits 30, 31. In this case, for instance, when the idling revolution of the internal combustion engine becomes higher than a prescribed revolution, the ignition timing is retarded.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make on optimum amount of fuel feedable all the time by calculating a fuel blow-by factor according to driving condictions of an internal combustion engine, and compensating a fuel injection quantity according to this calculated result, in case of the two-cycle internal combustion engine or the like plenty of blow-by. CONSTITUTION:An air-fuel ratio controller is applied to an internal combustion engine being plenty of blow-by such as a two-cycle internal combustion engine or the like. In this case, there are provided with a device 2 supplying the internal combustion engine 1 with the desired amount of fuel, a device 3 calcualting a fuel supply depending on driving conditions of this internal combustion engine 1 and a device 4 storing compensating factor data for compensating fuel blow-by according to plural driving conditions of the internal combustion engine 1, respectively. The value of a compensating factor suitable for the measured driving conditions of the engine 1 is operated by data of a memory device 4, and there is provided with a device 5 correcting the fuel supply of the calculating device 3. And, also a device 6 forming a signal to the supply device 2 is provided so as to have the corrected amount of fuel fed to the internal combustion engine 1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable valve timing to be properly set without using any variable valve timing mechanisms in an engine provided with a mechanical supercharger and an inter-cooler by setting the closing position of an intake valve and the opening period of an exhaust valve to the predetermined delay side. CONSTITUTION:In an intake path 12 are arranged an air cleaner 18, an air flow meter 20a, throttle valve 22, a mechanical supercharger 24, an inter-cooler 26 and a fuel injection valve 28 sequentially from the upstream side. Also, a bypass path 38 is formed to bypass the supercharger 24 and the inter-cooler 26, and a bypass controlling valve 40 is interposed in said path 40. In an internal combustion engine thus constituted, the closing period of an intake valve 46 is set later than 70 deg. after the lower dead point, while the opening period of an exhaust valve 48 is set later than 40 deg. before the lower dead point. Thus, fuel consumption is improved in low load while the output is improved in high load.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To dissolve the influence generated by back-blow of such as fresh air toward a supercharger, so as to reduce the drive loss and to raise the output, by setting check valves adapted to check a counter-blow of fresh air toward the pressure-charging means side, and setting a driving mechanism adapted to open exhaust valves earlier than intake valves. CONSTITUTION:In heavy load range of an engine, an intake air control valve 16 is opened, and on the other hand, an exhaust gas control valve 34 is closed. Then, exhaust valves 31a, 31b are opened according to the descendent motion of a piston, to blow-out the exhaust gas abruptly. Next, suction vales 21a, 21b are opened to blow-in the fresh air from suction ports 20a, 20b toward a combustion chamber 2, respectively, and by this matter, cross scavenging is performed by the exhaust gas and the fresh air. At this time, a counter-blow of the fresh air is prevented by check valves 18a, 18b. Next, a part of the fresh air is stored in exhaust ports 32a, 32b and an exhaust manifold 33 for a while, by exhaust pulse effect, and after that, the stored fresh air is pushed into the combustion chamber 2 as this fresh air is blown back. At this time, dynamic pressure which acts on intake ports 20a, 20b is checked by the check valves 18a, 18b, respectively.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stratify fresh air and exhaust gas, so as to improve the ignitionability, by setting an exhaust system adapted to control the pressure fluctuation of back pressure of at least eather of exhaust ports, in light load range of an engine, and setting means adapted to give a swirl to the exhaust gas blown back to a combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:In light load range of an engine, an intake air control valve 16 is closed, and on the other hand, an exhaust gas control valve 34 is opened. Then, the first exhaust valve 31a is opened according to the descendent motion of a piston 3, to blow the exhaust gas toward the first exhaust port 32a, and this exhaust gas is blown back to a combustion chamber 2. At this time, a swirl of exhaust gas is formed by a mask 5. After that, the second exhaust valve 32b and intake valves 21a, 21b are opened, respectively. On the other hand, fresh air passed through a throttle valve 13 and a supercharger 14, is led slowly into the combustion chamber 2 through an intake valve 21a, and gathered near a sparking plug 4 on the cylinder head 6 side. In this way, the fresh air on the cylinder head 6 side and the exhaust gas on the piston 3 side, are stratified, and consequently, the ignitionability is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce fuel consumption and improve an output, by a method wherein a varying compression ratio device is mounted to a mechanical super charge engine, during operation of a supercharger, a compression ratio is re duced over that prevailing during inoperative state, and a compression ratio is changed depending upon the presence of the occurrence of knocking. CONSTITUTION:A mechanical supercharger 3 rotated in linkage with a crank 4 is mounted in a suction passage 2 through a belt 5, and a bypass passage 6, which runs around the supercharger 3 and in which a bypass valve 7 is located, is provided. Meanwhile, a compression ratio varying device 10 is placed in an engine 1 in a manner to face on a combustion chamber 9, and is so constituted as to drive a piston 11 for varying volume with the aid of a servo motor 12. When the compression ratio varying device 10 is controlled by a control computer 13, a servo motor 12 is controlled so that the supercharger 3 is turned ON when an engine load is increased to higher than a given value, and a compressed pressure is reduced in a state in that the bypass valve 7 is closed. Thereafter, a compression ratio is varied depending upon the presence of the occurrence of knocking.
