    Abstract: PURPOSE:To surely operate a brake even upon occurrence of a trouble, by connecting a pressure source to a pressure chamber in a booster through a dual system hydraulic circuit, and by exclusively selecting the communication or isolation of several systems upon normal operation of a computer or upon abnormal operation of the computer. CONSTITUTION:A reservoir chamber 24 in a brake force transmission cylinder 8 is connected to an accumulator 28 and a hydraulic pump 29 through a hydraulic circuit 31 having a control valve 27. Further, the accumulator 28 is connected to a reservoir chamber in a depressing force cylinder 10 through a hydraulic circuit 57 while the reservoir chamber is connected to a pressure regulating chamber (which is not shown) through a depressing force change-over valve. Further, this pressure regulating chamber is connected to the reservoir chamber 24 through a hydraulic circuit 63 having a change-over valve 62. These valves 27, 62 are controlled by a computer 7. Normally, the valve 27 is opened but the valve 62 is closed, and therefore, the pressure is fed from the circuit 31. When the computer 7 is abnormal, the valves 27, 62 are changed over so that the pressure is fed from the circuit 63.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable deceleration driving expected by a driver, according to a method wherein a control valve in an oil pressure circuit is controlled in accordance with the treading force on a brake pedal and a vehicle speed, and braking action is performed by using two systems making the toggle joint braking action of an oil pressure back up type. CONSTITUTION:A booster 2 operated by means of a brake pedal 5 through a load cell 4 and a push rod 3, consists of a braking force transmitting cylinder 8 on the base side, and a master cylinder 9 mounted on the front portion of the cylinder 8. The reservoir chamber of the braking force transmitting cylinder 8 is connected to a control valve 45 interposed in an oil pressure circuit 44 including an oil pressure pump 41, which is an oil pressure backing up toggle power source, and an accumulator 43. In braking force insufficient condition, a control signal is outputted from a control valve 48 by means of a computer 7 inputting the output signals from vehicle speed sensors 6 and the load cell 4 so as to obtain an optimum deceleration with respect to the treading force, and then the chamber 48 is controlled to be connected to the oil pressure circuit 44.

CONSTITUTION:A booster 2 operated by means of a brake pedal 5 through a main rod 3 and a sub rod 4, consists of a braking force transmitting cylinder 8 on the base side, a master cylinder 9 mounted on the front portion of the cylinder 8, and a treading force cylinder 10 integrally mounted on the lower side of the cylinder 8. the two reservoir chambers of the braking force transmitting cylinder 8 are respectively connected to a pair of control valves 44 and 45 interposed in parallel in an oil pressure circuit including an oil pressure pump 41 and an accumulator 43. Each of the valves 44 and 45 is respectively used for the control of a power and a spool pistons in the cylinder 8, and the control valve 44 is opened by means of a spring and the control valve 45 is closed when the malfunction of a computer 7 or the like is generated.

    Abstract: PURPOSE: To make constant deceleration attainable even if a load or the like varies, by driving a three-position valve of an actuator with a pedal-pressure signal out of a pedal-pressure detecting arm and an output signal corresponding to various conditions of car body weight or the like detected by a car speed sensor signal, while operating a brake.
    CONSTITUTION: When a brake pedal 2 is operated, pedal effort is added to a pedal- pressure detecting arm 19 whereby a pedal-pressure signal is transmitted to a hydraulic control unit 21 together with a signal out of a car speed sensor 22, and deceleration corresponding to the pedal effort is calculated with a signal on the basis of the reference car speed calculated by the unit 21, then a selection signal to an A port is transmitted to a three-position valve 14. Next, oil out of an oil pump 11 is fed to an IN side pressure chamber 10 of a master cylinder 4, pressing pistons 24 and 27, and with oil inside each of both front and rear hydraulic chambers 25 and 29, front and rear wheels 5 and 6 are pushed with pressure, thus braking them. Then, in the deceleration, an actual value of the sensor 22 comes to be lower than the calculated reference car speed, and a selection signal is transmitted to both B and C ports of the valve 14 from the control unit 21, whereby pressure in these hydraulic chambers 25 and 29 is kept up at the B port, and oil in the pressure chamber 10 is put back at the C ports, releasing the applied pressure to wheels.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To heighten braking force for rear wheels while avoiding a rear wheel lock and relieve a load of a brake on front wheels, by connecting two types of P valves to space between a master cylinder and a rear wheel cylinder in series and then performing a technique for hydraulic control in two steps. CONSTITUTION:Two units of first and second P valves 10 and 12 are built in a housing 14 in series, and a side of the first P valve 10 is set so as to start its pressure reducing control with relatively low pressure as compared with the counterpart. And, the upstream side of the first P valve 10 is connected to a master cylinder 72 while the downstream side of the second P valve 12 to a rear wheel cylinder 78, respectively. In time of quick braking, the first P valve 10 is actuated, thereby closing an on-off valve 32 and checking a rise in hydraulic pressure. However, the hydraulic pressure of the master cylinder 72 flows in the upstream side of the second P valve via a fine hole 64 of the housing 14 so that pressure in the wheel cylinder 78 goes up by degrees. When the pressure of the wheel cylinder 78 goes up beyond the specified one, the second P valve 12 is actuated whereby a more pressure rise than this level is thus checked.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce generation of brake noise through suppression of the generation of vibration of a brake pad by a method wherein when a brake force is exerted, a rotation force is exerted on the brake pad, and the brake pad is brought into a caliper or the two different spots of a member assembled to the caliper. CONSTITUTION:When a brake pedal is stepped on in a state that a vehicle is run forward, back plates 52 and 62 are pulled in a front direction corresponding to the rotation direction of a disc rotor and brought into contact with a torque support part 30c, and brake torque of a wheel is exerted on the support part 30c. In this case, since the back plates 52 and 62 of the brake pad are energized frontward downward through the force of a crossed spring 71, the back plates 52 and 62 are moved in parallel as the downward force of the crossed spring 71 is exerted thereon. Thus, the back plates are pressed against the upper part of the inner peripheral surface of oblong holes 52a and 62a and the outer periphery of a hanger pin 41 and slide resistance is generated between the upper part of the inner peripheral surface thereof and the hanger pin 41. Meanwhile, since a friction force is also generated between the side end faces of the back plates 52 and 62 and the torque support part 30c, the generation of vibration of the back plates 52 and 62 is regulated and the generation of brake noise owing to vibration is reduced.
