Abstract: PURPOSE:To keep the running stability of a vehicle so favorably by installing a factor correcting means which corrects a factor so as to check its variation set by a factor decision means when a detected steering speed is largely varied in the decrement direction. CONSTITUTION:In this controller, there is provided with a factor correcting means 6 which corrects a factor so as to check its variation being set by a factor decision means 3 when a detected steering speed of a steering speed detecting means 2 is largely varied in the decrement direction. With this constitution, when each steering speed of front wheels FW is largely varied in the decrement direction, the factor correcting means 6 corrects it so as to check a variation in the factor being set by the factor decision means 3, so that a steered variable of each rear wheel RW in the same phase direction will not be lessened so suddenly. With this constitution, even if the steering speed is temporarily and suddenly decreased, the steered variable of the rear wheels RW in the same phase direction will not be suddenly decreased at all, and since steering control in the same phase direction at the safety side is maintained, the running stability of a vehicle is favorably kept up.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To maintain an adequate rear wheel steering amount and to improve the operation safety of the vehicle by using a fixed operation parameter not depending on the car speed as the operation parameter of the rear wheel steering control device when it is detected that the reliability of the car speed is reduced. CONSTITUTION:A car speed reliability detecting device 6 to detect that the reliability of the car speed detected by a car speed detecting device 4 is lowered, and an operation parameter converting device 7 to make a fixed operation parameter not depending on the car speed into an operation parameter in a rear wheel steering control device 1 instead of an operation parameter decided by an operation parameter deciding device 5 when it is detected that the reliability of the car speed is reduced by a detector 6, are provided. And when the reliability of the detected car speed is low, the steering is converted to a stable general control not dependent to the car speed, and the steering amount of the rear wheels determined depending on an inaccurate car speed is prevented. Consequently, the operation safety of the vehicle can be improved not by depending on the reliability of the detected car speed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To shorten the braking distance by judging the road surface condition on the basis of the wheel speed, changing the control slope when the brake pressure for the wheel increases in accordance with the result from this judgement, and controlling the brake pressure optimumly according to the road surface condition. CONSTITUTION:The brake pressure for a wheel M1 is adjusted by a control valve M2. The speed of this wheel M1 is sensed by a wheel speed sensor M3. The control valve M2 is controlled by a control means M4 so as to prevent lock of the wheel M1 on the basis of a signal given by this wheel speed sensor M3. In this device a road surface condition judging means M5 judges whether the road condition is bad on the basis of a signal given by the wheel speed sensor M3. According to the result from judgement made by this road surface condition judging means M5, a gradient change means M6 changes the control gradient when the brake pressure for the wheel M1 increases. Thereby the wheel speed is converged quickly to near the reference speed regardless of the road surface condition, and thereby the brake distance is shortened.

No.1 reference speed is calculated on the basis of the mean speed value of the left and right rear wheels, while No. 2 reference speed is calculated on the basis of the max. speed value of the left and rear wheels, and either of them is selected according to the result from judgement made by the means (e). With the selected reference speed, a means (g) controls the wheel so as to prevent slippage.

This valve chest 66 is provided with valve bodies 82, 86 blocking valve holes 81, 85 formed in a bulkhead 67 in the opposite direction each other in the chest body 68 provided in the center with bulkhead 67 in a single piece, wherein the valve bodies 82, 86 are energized by springs 83, 87 in the direction of closing. In the condition that the valve body 86 is closed, the pressure receiving area of valve body 86 on its selector valve 31 side shall be greater than that on the wheel cylinder 21 side.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To improve brake performance by providing first brakes for reducing the brake fluid pressure to such a level as to cause no skidding of wheels, when the wheel slip ratio is too large, and second brakes serving to keep the slip ratio in the correct range.
CONSTITUTION: There are provided, respectively, on the front and rear wheels 10, 11 first brakes 20, 22 operated by a fluid pressure from a master cylinder 24 which generates the fluid pressure corresponding to the depression force applied to a brake pedal 25 and second brakes 21, 23 operated by a fluid pressure from another system. There are provided electromagnetic control valves 30, 32 in respective fluid passages 27, 28 between the master cylinder 24 and the first brakes 20, 22. When the slip ratio estimated by a control circuit 70 from outputs of rotation sensors 90, 92 for detecting the rotational speeds of the respective wheels becomes too large, the electromagnetic control valves 30, 32 are changed over to reduce the brake fluid pressure and the brake forces of the second brakes 21, 23 are regulated and controlled so as to keep the slip ratio within the correct range.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To restrain a shock against crew and production of abnormal sound at changeover of damping force without using any relative speed sensor by allowing changeover of damping force by a control means after the lapse of a fixed time since passing a fixed value near speed of zero. CONSTITUTION: Shock absorbers 10A-10D having stepping motors 15a-15d are provided between a vehicle body and right/left, front/rear wheels, and vertical acceleration sensors 21a-21d are provided on the body in the vicinity of the respective wheels. By means of an electric control device 20, the signals of the vertical acceleration sensors 21a-21d are input to a microcomputer 23 through band pass filters 22a-22d and together with the signal of a vehicle speed sensor 25, and the respective stepping motors 15a-15d are controlled to be driven through a driving circuit 24. The microcomputer 23 judges whether the vehicle speed is over a threshold value in the vicinity of zero or not, sets a control beginning time by adding a delay time to the time passing through it, and allows changeover of damping force after the lapse of the time. Therefore, shock against crew and production of abnormal sound following to changeover of damping force can be reduced without using any relative speed sensor.

At low oil temperatures, damping force control is inhibited, thus preventing a step motor 40 from stepping out as a result of increase in the viscosity of operating oil.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To detect a malfunction of yaw rate sensor output with a simple constitution by constituting a yaw rate detecting value or a working value so as to judge whether it is within the specified range depending on the basis of a detected front-wheel steering angle or not. CONSTITUTION:A steering angle is detected by a front-wheel steering angle sensor 61, and thereby whether the yaw rate detecting value of a yaw rate sensor 63 or the working value is within the specified range dependent on the basis of a detected front wheel steering angle or not is judged by an electric controller C. Incidentally, a yaw rate acting on a car body is a physical quantity closely rated to steering of a vehicle, while a steering wheel 14 is maintained in the state that a turning angle is large to some extent, and when the vehicle is in turning motion at a small turning radius, the yaw rate shows a large value, and a variation in this yaw rate grows larger when the steering wheel 14 is quickly turned and the vehicle is suddenly steered. Consequently, such a yaw rate that may be really produced in the car body is compared with the detected yaw rate, through which something wrong in the output of the yaw rate sensor 63 is judged.
