PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a product of a modified metal ion compound improved in industrially undesirable properties inherent in metal compounds, such as deliquescence, reducing ability, oxidizing ability, and poor solubility in water, a method for producing the same, and uses thereof. SOLUTION: An associate-containing powder comprises an associate of trehalose or maltitol with a metal ion compound comprising a magnesium ion compound and/or a calcium ion compound or a bittern component. The method for producing the associate-containing powder comprises mixing maltitol with a metal ion compound comprising a magnesium ion compound and/or a calcium ion compound in an aqueous medium to form an associate, then pulverizing the associate, and collecting the pulverized associate. Food and drink, feed, a cosmetic or a drug comprises the associate-containing powder as a mineral-enriching agent, a mineral supplement, a flavor improver, a tofu coagulant, a humectant, a plant nutrient, a plant vitalizing agent or an allergic reaction inhibitor. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a stable composition containing calcium pantothenate and one or more vitamins, and to provide a method for efficiently preparing an aqueous solution containing calcium pantothenate. SOLUTION: This composition containing a solid state mixture of the calcium pantothenate with at least one vitamin is characterized in that the calcium pantothenate can be obtained by a method including the following processes: (1) a process for mixing crystalline calcium pantothenate with amorphous calcium pantothenate to prepare the uniform mixture, (2) a process for making the uniform mixture obtained in the process (1) to absorb moisture to prepare the crystalline calcium pantothenate, and (3) a process for repeatedly subjecting the crystalline calcium pantothenate obtained in the process (2) to the processes (1) and (2). The crystalline calcium pantothenate has a ratio (I 5.1 /I 16.0 ) of a diffraction strength I 5.1 at a diffraction angle of (2θ) 5.1° to a diffraction strength I 16.0 at a diffraction angle of (2θ) 16° in a powder X-ray diffraction pattern. The present invention discloses a nutritious, tasty and affordable drink made from the sap of Kappaphycus alvarezii seaweed which is readily cultivable. The drink resembles coconut water in appearance and taste and is rich in potassium. It also contains an adequate proportion of the daily requirement of iodine besides many other useful minerals such as magnesium, calcium, sodium, zinc, phosphorous and iron while having low concentrations of toxic elements such as lead and chromium. The process of refining sap, which enables the seaweed drink to be palatable and widely acceptable, besides bestowing adequate shelf life, is also described. The process of preparation is integrated with preparation of carrageenan and plant nutrient thereby making optimum use of the seaweed and minimizing waste.

The object of the present invention is to provide a composition of metal ion compound whose inherent and unsatisfactory properties for its industrial application such as deliquescence, reducing power, oxidizing power, low solubility in water, etc., are improved; and their preparation and uses. The present invention solves the above object by providing an associate of trehalose or maltitol and a metal ion compound or bittern component, and their preparation and uses.
