Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lubricating oil composition exhibiting an extremely low friction coefficient when used as the lubricating oil for a low-friction sliding material, and to provide a sliding mechanism having excellent low friction properties by combining the lubricating oil composition with a sliding mechanism having a film of a specific low-friction sliding material on a sliding surface.SOLUTION: A lubricating oil composition used for a low-friction sliding material containing in a lubricant base oil, based on the total amount of the composition, (A) 0.005 mass% to 0.12 mass% of organic zinc dithiophosphate in phosphorus concentration equivalent, (B) 0.05 mass% to 5 mass% of an amine-based friction-reducing agent, and (C) 0.05 mass% to 0.5 mass% of an alkaline-earth metal salicylate-based cleaning agent and/or an alkaline-earth metal sulfonate-based cleaning agent in alkaline-earth metal concentration equivalent is characterized by containing 0.005 mass% to 0.05 mass% of primary dialkyl zinc dithiophosphate in phosphorous concentration equivalent in the component (A). There is also provided a sliding mechanism obtained by interposing the lubricating oil composition between mutually sliding surfaces of two sliding members, and having at least one sliding surface of the two sliding members having a DLC film containing hydrogen in the amount of 5 atom% to 50 atom% formed thereon.

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rust-preventive oil composition which can suppress occurrence of rust over a long period of time even without passing through a cleaning stage for removing the rust occurrence factors, in the case when rust occurrence factors are stuck to various parts after metal working such as a steel sheet, a bearing, a steel ball and a guide rail, and metal parts subjected to assembling with bare hands.SOLUTION: The rust-preventive oil composition contains both a nonionic surfactant having a hydrophilic-lipophilic index of 10 to 12 and at least one rust inhibitor, the content of the nonionic surfactant being 0.1 to 10 mass% on the basis of the total of the composition, and the rust inhibitor being selected from among sarcosine-type compound, sulfonate, ester, amine, carboxylic acid, fatty acid amine salt, carboxylate, paraffin wax, oxidized wax salt, alkyl-or alkenyl-succinic acid derivative, and boron compounds. Kinematic viscosity is 1 to 50 mm/s at 40°C.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a lubricating composition comprising a major amount of an oil of lubricating viscosity, (A) at least one organic polysulfide comprising at least about 90% dihydrocarbyl trisulfide, from about 0.1% up to about 8% dihydrocarbyl disulfide, and less than about 5% dihydrocarbyl higher polysulfides, and (B) at least one overbased metal composition, at least one phosphorus or boron compound, or mixtures of two or more thereof. The invention also relates to concentrates and greases containing the above combination. The invention also relates to methods of making the organic polysulfide.
