    Abstract: PURPOSE:To smoothly increase engine output torque by gradually increasing the injected fuel quantity at a scheduled rate from a scheduled initial value, when the feed of fuel is restarted after stopped at the time of deceleration driving. CONSTITUTION:Based on the output signal of an oxygen concentration detector 19 disposed in an engine exhaust passage A, the injection quantity is controlled by a means B to make a mixture fed into the engine cylinder to a target air-fuel ratio. When the time when the mixture is lean is longer than the time when it is rich, the increasing rate of the injection quantity in the acceleration driving is controlled to increase by a means D. In the deceleration driving, the feed of fuel is out by a means E. When the feed of fuel is started, the injected fuel quantity is gradually increased at a scheduled rate from a scheduled initial value, and the initial value is controlled according to the increasing rate.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To avoid enrichment in mixture by renewing a deposit correction factor when mixture is lean at the time of accelerating operation, and thereby controlling intake air flow at the time of decelerating operation based on said deposit correction factor. CONSTITUTION:It is judged by a lean judging means 51 based on the result of the detection made by an accelerating operation condition detecting means 50 whether or not mixture is lean at the time of accelerating operation. And when mixture is found to have been lean, an injection quantity control means 52 renews a deposit correction factor so that driving of a fuel injection valve 12 is controlled to increase the quantity of fuel injection at the time of accelerating operation. On the other hand, when a decelerating condition is detected by a detecting means 53, an intake air flow control means 54 drives a throttle valve 15 is response to the deposit correction factor renewed at the time of accelerating operation so as to control the intake air flow. This constitution thereby prevents output torque from being developed at the time of decelerating operation, and also can prevent mixture from being rich.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To promptly further accurately detect only a cylinder of abnormality by changing angular speed reference value in the next cylinder to a value larger than the normal updated value, when a rotary angular speed of an output shaft decreases lower than the angular speed reference value in an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:A rotary angular speed of an output shaft in an internal combustion engine M1 is detected by a means M2, synchronizing with a stroke of each cylinder. While it is discriminated by a means M3 whether or not a rotary angular speed of a predetermined stroke in each cylinder is smaller than the angular speed reference value set from a rotary angular speed before the predetermined stroke. Further the angular speed reference value in the next cylinder is changed by a means M4 being based on the rotary angular speed. When the rotary angular speed is smaller than the angular speed reference value, a cylinder of abnormality is detected by a means M5. Here the angular speed reference value is changed by a means M6 to a value larger than the value updated in the means M4. Thus, even when an irregular misfire or the like is generated in the other cylinder, the cylinder of abnormality is promptly further accurately detected.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent a knocking control device which controls the spark retardation compensating value for the timing of ignition upon occurrence of knocking, from controlling the timing of ignition in such a way that the spark retardation becomes excessive, by providing a compensating means for compensating the spark retardation compensating value in its decreasing direction upon occurrence of transient operation of an engine. CONSTITUTION:In knocking control device, there is provided an ignition timing compensating means MC which receives output signals from a knock sensor MB and which averages output signals from the knock sensor MB so as to calculate a knocking judging level in order to determine occurrence of a knocking after comparing the judging level with an output signal from the knock sensor MB. Upon occurrence of knocking, the spark retardation compensating value for the timing of ignition is controlled. In this arrangement, there is provided a transient operation detecting means MD for detecting the operating condition of an engine MA so as to detect a transient operation during which a variation in engine rotational speed exceeds a predetermined value. Upon detection of the transient operation, a compensating means ME compensates the spark retardation compensating value in its decreasing direction.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a proper knock judging level settable to an engine by making a limiting range of the knock judging level at a knock judging device for knocking judgment alterable according to a cylinder distributed state when the engine is in a normal driving state. CONSTITUTION:When a knocking state is judged by a knock judging device D according to an output signal of a knock sensor A, a control value for controlling each of knock control factors such as ignition timing and supercharging pressure or the like is operated, by a control valve operational device G, and a value of the knock control factor is varied according to this control value. And, a knock judging level at the knock judging device D is compensated by a judging level compensating device B according to a knocking state. In this case, when compensation of the judging level comes off the specified limiting range, the judging level is set to the said limiting value by a limiting device C. In addition, a mean value of the judging level is calculated at a cylinder state judging device E, and when a deviation between this means value and the judging level is in the specified distributed state, the limiting range of the judging level is altered by a limiting range altering device F on the basis of this mean value.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To enable a supercharge pressure to be controlled so that a similar driving feeling is obtained in no relation to an octane number of fuel, by determining a preset value of supercharge pressure in accordance with the delay timing by an engine speed and a load or the like. CONSTITUTION:A delay timing detecting means 2 detects a delay angle of ignition timing by an ignition timing control means 1, while an operative condition detecting means 3 detects an operative condition of an internal combustion engine such as its speed and load or the like. A supercharge pressure setting means 4 determines a preset value of supercharge pressure in accordance with the delay angle, detected by the delay timing detecting means 2, through the engine speed and load or the like detected by the operative condition detecting means 3. A supercharge pressure control means 6 controls a supercharger 5 so that the above preset supercharge pressure is obtained. In this way, the engine, whose output characteristic suitable for an octane number of fuel can be obtained, enables the drivability to be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of hunting by comparing the engine load and the predetermined load threshold value which varies in a prescribed relation for the engine revolution speed and lowering the supercharge pressure when the engine load is larger than the above- described threshold value and the delay angle correction value is over a standard value. CONSTITUTION:In Step 101-107, a delay angle correction value thetaK is obtained on the basis of the knocking generation state. In Step 107, the fundamental advance angle value thetaB is obtained from the engine load (intake air quantity Q/engine revolution speed N) and the engine revolution speed Ne. The actual advance angle value thetaEK (thetaEX thetaB-thetaK) is obtained. Then, in Step 110, the load threshold value which varies according to the number of revolution and the load Q/N at present are compared, and when the engine load is smaller than the threshold value, the delay angle correction value thetaK is excluded from the object of the judgement for increasing/decreasing supercharge pressure. When the load is larger than the load threshold value, it is considered that the fuel having a low octane number is used when the delay angle correction value thetaK is over a standard value, and the supercharger pressure is lowered, and therefore, the supercharge pressure is not increased during the use of the fuel having a low octane number, and the hunting of the supercharge pressure control valve is prevented.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To surely detect occurrence of a misfire by providing means for detecting a variation in the angular speed of a crankshaft, and means for determining occurrence of a misfire when the variation rate of the angular speed is lowered by a value greater than a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:Crank angle sensors 12 are arranged at the periphery of a disc-like rotor fitted on the crankshaft 10 of an internal combustion engine, being opposed to each other. The sensors 12 are connected to an angular speed detecting means A for detecting an angular speed of the crankshaft 10. Means B for detecting a variation in angular speed detects a variation rate of the angular speed of the shaft 10 in accordance with a result of detection by the detecting means A. A determining means C determines occurrence of a misfire when the variation rate of the angular speed of the crankshaft 10 is lowered by a value greater than a predetermined value. Thereby, it is possible to prevent erroneous determination such that a misfire is determined during running of a vehicle on a bumpy road.
