    Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust emission control device for an internal combustion engine, suppressing the lowering of operativeness resulting from a change in output torque of the engine when controlling the operation of the internal combustion engine to increase an exhaust gas temperature for recovering a filter. SOLUTION: The filter 18 is provided in an exhaust passage 8 for a diesel engine for trapping particulates in exhaust gas. Recovery control for removing the particulates from the filter 18 produces a change from normal engine operation emphasized on heat efficiency into engine operation intended for the increase of the exhaust gas temperature. In the engine operation intended for the increase of the exhaust gas temperature, heat efficiency is degraded more than that in the normal engine operation emphasized on the heat efficiency but a loss in output torque with the degradation of the heat efficiency is suppressed by the increase of a fuel injection amount.     Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an idle CO concentration adjusting device of an internal combustion engine capable of holding the CO concentration of exhaust gas at idle at those values within a proper range even if variable resistors are not installed in the internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: The fuel injection amount of an engine 11 in the idle time is varied based on the adjusted value of CO concentration set by an electronic control unit(ECU) 92. When the CO concentration of exhaust gas from the engine 11 in the idle time is adjusted within a proper range, the ECU 92 calculates the adjusted CO concentration value, in which the CO concentration becomes the value within the proper range, based on the actual CO concentration value of the exhaust gas, and stores the calculated adjusted CO concentration value in a backup RAM. Under the condition that the engine 11 is mounted on a car, the ECU 92 reads the adjusted CO concentration value stored in the backup RAM and, based on the adjusted value, corrects the fuel injection amount of the engine in the idle time.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent fuel cut caused by delay in response of an automatic transmission by increasing the number of revolutions of the fuel cut when temperature of working oil of the automatic transmission is low, in a device which cuts the fuel when the number of revolutions becomes higher than the fuel cut revolutions. CONSTITUTION:In an engine 1, an injector 4 and a rotation sensor 23 are provided, a fluid type automatic transmission 13 is provided between driving wheels and them. An air flow meter 22, a throttle sensor 21, an O2 sensor 23, an water temperature sensor 24 and a rotation sensor 25 are connected to the input side of an electronic computing unit(ECU) 27. An oil pressure control part 16 of the automatic transmission 13, the injector 4 and an ignitor 12 is connected to the output side thereof. When the number of revolutions of the engine 1 becomes high than the set fuel cut revolutions by means of control of the ECU 27, a valve opening signal of the injector 4 is set OFF to cut the fuel. When the temperature of working oil of the automatic transmission 13 is low the fuel cut revolution is made higher so as not to cut the fuel even if the number of revolution is increased by delay in response of oil pressure, and generation of shock or surging is prevented at an acceleration time.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent an engine stall by using no idle learning value in the feedback control of the air-fuel ratio in the idling such as an engine heating, but controlling to reflect a preset lower limit guard value to the effective injection time. CONSTITUTION:When the fuel injection time of fuel injection valves 58 provided in a suction maniford 54 responding to the cylinders is controlled by a microcomputer 41, the fuel injection time is feedback-controlled to be a specific value after the engine heating is completed. And in this case, a learning value to be the correction value in respect of the air-fuel ratio of the fuel injection time is stored in a memory. And when the fuel injection time is open-loop- cotrolled in a cold time or in an engine heating time, the stored learning value is reflected to the fuel injection time. And in this case, in a cold time and in an idling time, the learning value read from the memory is compared with the specific value, and when the learning value is smaller than the specific value, the learning value is converted to a lower limit guard value, and reflected to the fuel injection time.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To contrive the improvement of fuel consumption and drivability and the purification of exhaust gas by controlling the ignition timing changing the load ignition timing characteristic from the predetermined proportion to the load ignition timing characteristic, when a load is increased in an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:In the case of a method controlling ignition timing being based on the engine speed ignition timing characteristic and the load ignition timing characteristic, when an engine is decided to be placed in a condition of increasing a load, the load ignition timing characteristic is changed from the predetermined proportion in accordance with the lapse of time to the load ignition timing characteristic, and the ignition timing is controlled being based on the changed load ignition timing characteristic and the engine speed ignition timing characteristic. By this method, when the load is increased, because the predetermined proportion of the load ignition timing is ensured, the engine less discharges nitrogen oxide decreasing deterioration of fuel consumption and drivability while smoothing a torque change during operation.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To make a follow-up lag in feedback control compensable as well as to improve emission control performance for exhaust gas ever so high, by setting a control valve, controlling secondary air feed to an exhaust pipe, to a state of being opened for the specified time long at a time when a throttle valve shifts from closeness to openness. CONSTITUTION:When a throttle valve 10b is in a state of being closed, a suction pressure selector valve 10g is opened according to an L signal out of a throttle valve opening sensor TPS1 via an electronic control unit 1, whereby suction pressure is led into a diaphragm chamber 10fD of a secondary air control valve 10f. Therefore, the said control valve 10f is opened, feeding an exhaust manifold 10k with secondary air via an intake pipe 10b. Under this condition, when starting and acceleration take place, the suction pressure selector valve 10g is closed according to an H signal out of the sensor TPS1, and the suction pressure is held inside the said chamber 10f, thus the valve 10f is opened and kept intact. And, when it is after the elapse of the specified time and an oxygen sensor OS1 detects a lean state, the suction pressure selector valve 10g is reopened, and nearly atmospheric pressure is led into the chamber 10fD whereby the valve 10f is closed.

CONSTITUTION:An engine E is equipped with a carburetor 11, throttle valve 12, fuel cut valve 13, and a mixed gas passage. Further, the engine E is equipped with a throttle switch 21, cooling-water temperature switch 22, ignition coil 23, distributor 24, AC generator 25, and a regulator switch 26. When fuel feed is cut, a low-temperature mixed-gas heater 15 is put into electric conduction for heating. Thus, fuel atomization is accelerated in the transition from the fuel-cut state to the fuel restoration state, and the drivability of engine can be improved.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide a device which controls cutting of fuel during deceleration through simple structure without the occurrence of after-fire, by a method wherein the fuel of the slow system of a carburetor is cut during deceleration of an engine, and the air bleed control valve of a main system is fully opened. CONSTITUTION:Main fuel is fed through a nozzle 26 from a float chamber 23 of a carburetor by means of a main jet 24 and a passage 25. Meanwhile, idle and low speed fuel is fed through ports 32 and 34 from the main jet 24 by means of a slow jet 28 and a passage 29. Duty ratio-control is made on air bleed for each fuel system by a 2-valve integrally driving type solenoid valve 40 at the upper stream ends of pipes 47 and 50. A fuel cut valve 39 is located to a slow fuel passage 29, fuel is cut during deceleration of an engine, and a control device 52, simultaneously, maintains the solenoid valve 40 at a full opening state, and especially increased in an air-fuel ratio to prevent the occurrence of after-fire.

On the other hand, estimated temperature of exhaust air temperature at each instant is stored in an estimated exhaust air temperature storage means 7, and an updated value computing means 8 calculates an updated value which becomes a new estimated exhaust air temperature based on the computed change rate from a difference between the estimated temperature and exhaust air reach temperature. Thus, estimated exhaust air temperature which simulates actual exhaust air temperature with high precision is stored. As a consequence, an increased quantity compensation execution judging means 9 judges that fuel increased quantity compensation should be carried out only when exhaust air temperature of an engine 1 reaches the overheated condition and gives a command of adequate injection quantity from an injection control means 3 to a fuel injection means 2.

    Abstract: PURPOSE:To highly precisely detect a misfire with a simple structure by mounting a vibration detecting means on an internal combustion engine, and detecting the misfire on the basis of the detected vibration. CONSTITUTION:During the operation of an internal combustion engine m1, a vibration detecting means M2 detects the vibration of the engine M1, and an ignition timing detecting means M3 detects the ignition timing based on the rotation of the engine M1. A combusting state signal arithmetic means M4 processes the vibration signal detected by the means M2 synchronously with the ignition timing detected by the ignition timing means M3 and operates the combusting state signal instructing the combusting state of the engine M1. A misfire judging means M5 judges the misfire when the signal computed by the combusting means M4 does not satisfy a standard value. Thus, the misfire can be highly precisely detected with a simple structure.
