PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for detecting a region where rigidity has been changed. SOLUTION: An ultrasonic imaging method for detecting a target region where the rigidity has been changed comprises a process to transmit a reference pulse to the target region so as to detect the initial position of the target region, a process to transmit a first pushing pulse having a first value of a variable parameter so as to displace the target region to a first displacement position, a process to transmit a first tracking pulse so as to detect the first displacement position of the target region, a process to transmit a second pushing pulse having a second value of the variable parameter so as to displace the target region to a second displacement position, and a process to transmit a second tracking pulse so as to detect the second displacement position of the target region. SOLUTION: A system for detecting, localizing and targeting a medical instrument toward a target tissue within the body using an optical contrast agent in which a light source 102 is optically coupled to the tissue to be diagnosed 135; a light detector 174 is optically coupled to the tissue; to detect a portion of the light which passes through the tissue, and either one or both of the light source and light detector are coupled to the medical instrument 130 used in a medical procedure. SOLUTION: The SIBO-caused condition includes irritable bowel syndrome, fibromyalgia, chronic pelvic pain syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, depression, impaired mentation, impaired memory, halitosis, tinnitus, sugar craving, autism, attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder, drug sensitivity, autoimmune disease, and Crohn's disease. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for reducing erroneous detection and decreasing mistake as a wrong embolus part of pulmonary veins having opacity, which is extended to a range not to be kept to a local response and contradictory, in identifying occlusions in vasculature such as pulmonary embolism in computer-aided diagnosis (CAD). SOLUTION: This method of identifying one or more occlusions in vasculature located in a region of interest, includes: a step 402 of extracting vasculature from the region of interest; a step 404 of identifying a subject geometry of the extracted vasculature; and a step 406 of comparing the subject geometry to a predetermined geometry to identify a blockage.
