Abstract: PURPOSE:To secure the stable combustion operation of an engine and improve fuel consumption rate by controlling the ignition timing so as to be corrected to the reduction direction of misfire, when misfire is detected from the exhaust pressure, etc. CONSTITUTION:The ignition timing is calculated in an ignition timing calculating means 2 on the basis of the operation conditions such as the load Q/NE of an internal combustion engine and the number of revolution NE, and the output signals are sent into an ignition signal generating means 3. The ignition signals which are formed so that the independent ignition timing for each cylinder can be obtained are applied into an ignitor 1A, and fuel is ignited at the proper timing in each cylinder. In this case, a misfire detecting means 4 for detecting the misfire state in ignition is installed independently in each cylinder. When misfire is detected, an ignition timing correcting means 5 corrects the ignition timing calculated by the ignition timing calculating means 2 to the reduction direction of misfire.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To ensure stable combustion, by detecting each cylinder for its misfiring and correcting a fuel injection to quantity be decreased for the cylinder, which generates the misfiring, so that the cylinder, preventing its mixture from becoming rich to a combustible limit or more, easily attains the ignition in the next time. CONSTITUTION:On the basis of operative condition of load Q, engine speed NE, etc., of an internal combustion engine, a fuel supply amount calculating means 2 calculates a fuel supply amount to feed its output signal to a fuel supply signal forming means 3. And forming a fuel supply signal so that fuel of the calculated amount is supplied by the separate timing to each cylinder, the fuel supply signal is applied to fuel supplying means 1 thus enabling the fuel of predetermined amount to be supplied to each cylinder. While in this case, a misfiring detecting means 4, which detects a misfiring condition separately in each cylinder, is provided. And a fuel supply amount correcting means 5, in each cylinder detecting a misfire, corrects the fuel supply amount, calculated by the fuel supply amount calculating means 2, to be decreased.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To make good combustion over the whole load range of an engine, by introducing a part of exhaust gas, while making it to be swirling in relation to a combustion chamber, and supplying fuel at every strokes in case of high load condition and at alternate strokes in case of low load condition respectively. CONSTITUTION:An intake port 20 and an exhaust port 22 are arranged on a cylinder head 14 facing each other and an intake valve 24 and an exhaust valve 26 are disposed respectively thereon. In this case, the exhaust port 22 on one side is formed at a right angle with respect to the longitudinal axial line of the engine so as to be arranged in a straight line to the branch pipe 50a of an exhaust manifold, and also to be opened in the tangential direction of an combustion chamber 18. Thus, re-inflew exhaust gas produces swirl (S) around the cylinder axial line. On the other hand, a fuel injection valve 34 is provided on the intake port 20 and it is controlled in its open and close motion by a control device, in accordance with signals from various kinds of sensors which are adapted to detect the state of an engine operation. Namely, respective fuel supplies are performed at every stroke in high loaded condition and at alternate strokes in low loaded condition.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To perform accurate air-fuel ratio control irrespective of changes in suction air temperature by detecting the suction air temperature on the downstream side of a supercharger, calculating a correction factor for compensating the escape of fresh intake according to the detected value, and correcting a fuel supply rate. CONSTITUTION:A 2-cycle internal combustion engine 1 or the like having a large escape ratio of fresh intake is provided with a means 2 for supplying a required rate of fuel to the engine 1 and a means 3 for calculating the fuel supply rate determined by operating conditions such as load and rpm of the engine 1. A means 4 is also provided for detecting a temperature of suction air on the downstream side of a supercharger 2' and a means 5 is further provided for calculating a correction factor value for compensating the escape of the fresh intake according to the detected temperature of the suction air and for correcting the fuel supply rate calculated with the means 3. A means 6 is further provided for forming a fuel supply signal to be sent to the means 2 so that a corrected rate of fuel is supplied to the internal combustion engine 1.

A means 6 is further provided for forming a fuel supply signal of a corrected amount to be outputted to the means 2.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To stratify fresh air and exhaust gas, so as to improve the ignitionability, by setting an exhaust system adapted to control the pressure fluctuation of back pressure of an exhaust port, in light load range of an engine, and setting means which contain a mask, adapted to give a swirl to the exhaust gas blown back to a combustion chamber. CONSTITUTION:In light load range of an engine, an intake air control valve 16 is closed, and on the other hand, an exhaust gas control valve 34 is opened. Then, exhaust valves 31a, 31b are opened according to the descendent motion of a piston 3, to blow the exhaust gas toward exhaust ports 32a, 32b, respectively, and this exhaust gas is blown back to a combustion chamber 2. At this time, a swirl of exhaust gas is formed by the eccentric port 32b and a mask 5, and at the same time, the lower part of the swirl is guided to a slanting recessed part 8 of the top face of the piston 3. On the other hand, fresh air passed through a throttle valve 13 and a supercharger 14, is led slowly into the combustion chamber 2 through an intake valve 21a, and gathered near a sparking plug 4 on the cylinder head 6 side. In this way, the fresh air on the cylinder head 6 side and the exhaust gas on the piston 3 side, are stratified, and consequently, the ignitionability is improved.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To reduce the size of an air-conditioning system by controlling the circulation of air-conditioning refrigerant according to the temperature condition of cooling water when cooling the circulating cooling water for a water-cooled intercooler by means of the air-conditioning refrigerant for a vehicle. CONSTITUTION:High temperature supply air fed from a supercharger 7 is cooled by the water circulating through a heatexchanger 31 in an intercooler 30. The water in the heatexchanger 31 passes through a circulation pump 34 and a radiation heatexchanger 33a and circulates to the heatexchanger 31. The refrigerant for a vehicle air-conditioner passes through a compressor 44, a condenser 48, a solenoid valve 64 and an expansion valve 52 and cooled in a heatexchanger 54 then returns to a compressor 44. A portion of the refrigerant circulates through an expansion valve 58, a solenoid valve 66 and a water cooler 33 for intercooler. According to a supercharged air temperature 77, a controller 70 controls the solenoid valve 66 and the rotation of the circulation pump 34 thus minimizing the circulation of the air-conditioning refrigerant.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent acceleration response from becoming worse by making compression ratio for a supercharger set at On lower than that set at OFF, and if knocking tends to occur at time of shifting from OFF to ON, setting the supercharger at ON after the compression ratio has been reduced. CONSTITUTION:The above mentioned engine is provided with a mechanical supercharger 3 continuously rotated through an engine 1 and a belt 5 in its suction path 2, and a bypass path 6 provided with a bypass valve 7 is formed around the supercharger 3, and in addition, a variable compression ratio device 10 is mounted facing on a combustion chamber 9. In case of controlling the above engine by a control computer 13, the engine is first judged of its operating under which of heavy, half and light loads, and then the supercharger 3 is set at ON in the case of the heavy load. In this case, if knocking caused by the temperature of suction or water tends to occur, the supercharger 3 is set at ON after the engine 1 has been given a low compression ratio by the variable compression ratio device 10. On the other hand, in the case of the half or light load, the supercharger 3 is set at OFF, and the engine 1 is controlled to increase its compression ratio.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To restrain the occurrence of transient knocking by detecting the switching timing of an intake valve to the delay side of valve timing to delay ignition timing for a period up to the completion of switching. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 70 receives the respective detecting signals of an air flow meter 72, pressure sensor 74 for detecting supercharging pressure, rotational angle sensor 78, cylinder judging sensor 79 and knock sensor 80 for detecting knocking to judge the running condition and control the valve timing of an intake valve 20, ignition timing of an ignition plug 32, etc. Here, the switching of the valve timing of the intake valve 20 to the delay side is detected to double the increment width of ignition timing for a period up to the completion of switching. Then, the delay correcting width of ignition timing is enlarged to delay the ignition timing. Thus, the occurrence of transient knocking is restrained.
