PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a F-T synthesis catalyst exhibiting high activity and high water resistance without impairing its strength and wear resistance, a method for manufacturing the catalyst, a method for regenerating the catalyst and a method for producing a hydrocarbon by using the catalyst. SOLUTION: The catalyst for producing the hydrocarbon from synthetic gas is manufactured by depositing metal cobalt or metal cobalt and cobalt oxide and a noble metal on a catalytic carrier having silica as a principal component and is characterized in that the content of impurities in the catalyst is 0.01-0.15 mass%. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a denitration catalyst composition for efficiently reducing/removing a nitrogen oxide from an exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine operated by lean combustion of a boiler, a gasoline engine and a diesel engine using a hydrocarbon based reducing agent, an integral structure type denitration catalyst and a denitration method using it. SOLUTION: The denitration catalyst composition for reducing the nitrogen composition in the exhaust gas by the hydrocarbon based reducing agent contains zeolite (A) carrying an iron element, a cerium-containing oxide (B) and a porous inorganic oxide (C) carrying one kind or more of a noble metal element. In the integral structure type denitration catalyst, a surface of a honeycomb structure carrier is covered with the denitration catalyst. The denitration method employs the mixture of a hydrocarbon based reducing agent with the exhaust gas containing the nitrogen oxide to be brought into contact with the denitration catalyst composition or the integral structure type denitration catalyst in a temperature range of 150-400°C. SOLUTION: This esterification catalyst is based on metal salt of a heteropolyacid in which all protons contained in the heteropolyacid are substituted for a metal cation having ≥9 electronegativity and the ionic radius of 70 to 120 picometers. This acylation catalyst is based on metal salt of another heteropolyacid in which at least a part of the protons contained in the heteropolyacid is substituted for another metal cation having >11 electronegativity and the ionic radius of 70 to 120 picometers.
