PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent infiltration of water or salt water into pores of a carbon ceramic brake disc, which are exposed outside, or to suppress the amount of the infiltration. SOLUTION: A disc, whose pores remain after infiltration using a carbide-forming element is conducted and carbide is formed by a reaction between the element and at least part of the carbon in a tentative body of the brake disc, and at least part of which are filled with particles having an average diameter in the range of 0.5-20 nm, and a method for manufacturing the disc are provided. The disc is treated using a solution containing an organic compound of boron, zirconium, titanium, silicon, or aluminum, or containing a mixture of the organic compound, and the organic compound exists in an organic solvent in a state of sol. The disc is removed from a sol tank, dried in a furnace at 30-300 K/h heating rate under air or a protective gas, and annealed at 350-800 °C final temperature for 20-120 min. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method related to the formation of a recessed part in a component for constituting a high temperature gas passage for a turbine assembly. SOLUTION: The method comprises forming at least one recessed part having a selected size and shape in the surface of an inner passage of the metal component. The method includes a step of stacking a ceramic base material (50) on a ceramic core suitable to forming the inner passage by a direct writing method during a casting process for forming the metal component and stacking the ceramic base material as a positive characteristic part, a step of heat treating the stacked ceramic base material, a step of forming the metal component by the casting method by which the ceramic core (56) is incorporated in a cast product at a position selected as a desired position for the inner passage, and a step of removing the ceramic core from the metal component after completion of the casting process, and forming the inner passage having the recessed part in the surface of the passage by removing the positive characteristic part of the ceramic base material. SOLUTION: This ceramics member is provided with substrate wherein first ceramics material is used as the main component, and a covering layer which covers the surface of the substrate which surface faces the inside of the reaction vessel and in which second ceramics material whose plasma etch-proof property is higher than that of the first ceramics material is made the main component. SOLUTION: The manufacturing process for the refractory material is performed by (a) depositing a 1st dispersion body containing a powdery metallic compound composed of a borate of a transition metal and a resin containing ≥30% carbon component after carbonization on the surface of a base material or in a mold, (b) drying the resultant deposit, (c) crosslinking the resin existing in the deposit, (d) carbonizing the resin in an inert atmosphere, (e) covering with a 2nd dispersion body containing powdery silicon and a binder and (f) heating a material obtained in the step (e) to a temperature equal to or above the melting point of silicon in the inert atmosphere. SOLUTION: The heat-resistant coated member is characterized in that a substrate including materials selected among Mo, Ta, W, Zr, Al, Ti, carbon, alloys thereof, oxide ceramics thereof, non-oxide ceramics, and carbide-based materials, is coated with a layer which includes oxides containing rare earth elements as a main component.
