Abstract:
PURPOSE: To produce the bifunctional anion exchange body having a desired property and/or other new favorable property by converting some part of a weakly basic amino group in the anion exchange body to a salt type before quaternization. CONSTITUTION: The bifunctional anion exchange resin is produced by partially quaternizing by partially depositing a strong acid on a weakly basic anion exchange body before quaternizing a weakly basic anion exchange body containing tert. amino group by using a customary alkylation agent. An amount of the strong acid used for partial pre-depositing of the weakly basic anion exchange resin is calculated so that 0.3-0.85 mol acid per 1 mol amino group in the anion exchange body, appropriately 0.35-0.80 mol acid, may be appropriated, that is so that 30-85% amino group of the anion exchange body, appropriately 35-80% amino group, may be present as the salt type.
