PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a silicic fertilizer having effective constituents for both rice field farming and upland field farming and a raw material slag for the same. SOLUTION: A slag for fertilizer comprises 30-50 mass% of CaO, 20-40 mass% of SiO 2 , 8-30 mass% of MgO, and 1.0-15.0 mass% of Al 2 O 3 wherein the ratio CaO/SiO 2 is adjusted to not less than 0.8 and less than 1.4, and has an alkali content of not less than 56.3 mass%, the alkali content constituted by a refine slag generated by a refine process of at least one steel alloy selected from the group consisting of a stainless steel, a Fe-Ni alloy steel, and a Ni base alloy having a mineral phase containing not less than 30 vol% of merbinite (3CaO-MgO-2SiO 2 ), 3-40 vol% of magnesia (MgO), and 3-40 vol% of spinel (MgO-Al 2 O 3 ). PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for easily dissolving a hardly soluble metal compound in water and a method for obtaining a liquid type composite fertilizer using mineral water obtained by the method or obtaining mineral water for ingestion in human body. SOLUTION: In the method for dissolving a powder metal compound in water, an acid is added to the water under reduced pressure to dissolve the metal compound in form of metal ion in the water. When the metal ion-dissolved water obtained in the method is used as a liquid composite fertilizer, the yield of the agricultural products is increased and the quality, sugar content, acidity, and taste of the agricultural products are improved. When a raw material is properly selected, a harmless liquid composite fertilizer usable for agricultural products can be produced without using harmful chemical substances. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mineral liquid manufacturing method for obtaining, from sea water without heating it, mineral liquid having a sufficiently high concentration of mineral component such as magnesium and calcium and having a satisfactorily reduced sodium concentration. SOLUTION: The high-concentration mineral liquid manufacturing method comprises: a step (I) of separating sea water into concentrate (A1) and membrane permeate (A2) by treating sea water with a reverse osmosis membrane; a step (II) of obtaining concentrate (B1) in which cation concentration and monovalent anion concentration are high and bivalent or more anion concentration is low by treating the concentrate (A1) with an electrodialyzer constituted by disposing a pair of monovalent anion selective permeable anion exchange membrane and cation exchange membrane between anode and cathode; and a step (III) of obtaining concentrate (C1) as high-concentration mineral liquid in which bivalent or more cation concentration is high and monovalent cation concentration is low by treating the concentrate (B1) with an electrodialyzer constituted by disposing a pair of monovalent cation selective permeable cation exchange membrane and anion exchange membrane between anode and cathode. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a material modified by chaff, or the like, which is manufactured by making effective use of chaff, straw, or the like, which is hardly reused usually, as a high value-added material and is suitable particularly as a high-quality moisture controlling material, a snow melting material, or the like, and to provide a method for manufacturing the material modified by chaff, or the like. SOLUTION: A calcium hydroxide source is mixed in chaff or straw, which is then treated under such a predetermined steam pressure that chaff or straw is not burned.
