Abstract: PURPOSE: To control fuel pressure securely unrelated to elasped change of discharge efficiency of a fuel pump or instrumental error caused from machine error of the fuel pump and capacity error of a fuel piping system. CONSTITUTION: Fuel stored in a fuel tank 251 is pressed by a booster pump 25 and fuel pump 53 and stored in a common rail and directly injected in a cylinder by fuel injection valves 211-214 disposed for every cylinder. Fuel pressure is detected by a pressure sensor 231 and compared with target pressure and to determine control amount in a control part 26, learning value is changed when the control amount excesses determined range and elapsed variation or machine error of the fuel pump and capacity error of a fuel piping system are absorbed to maintain pressure characteristic by correcting the control amount by learning value and determining operation amount of a fuel pressure control part 254.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the worsening of torque fluctuation and the generation of misfire in an intake air control device of a laminated combustion internal combustion engine provided with swirl control valves. SOLUTION: Fuel injection valves 11 are arranged at the peripheral part of the inner wall surface of a cylinder head 4 in the neighborhood of the first intake valve 6a and the second intake valve 6b of an engine 1, and the fuels the fuel injection valves 11 are directly injected into cylinders 1a. Further, swirl control valves(SCV) 17 opened and closed by a step motor 19 are arranged in the respective second intake air passages 15b. The actual opening or the intensity of swirl of the SCV 17 fluctuates for every engine 1. When a maximum value of the amount of reduction of torque is larger than a misfire-judging level, an electronic control unit (ECU) 30 judges 'occurrence of misfire' to increase a target SCV opening. Then, when a mean value of the amount of reduction of torque is larger than a target value, the electronic control unit increases the intensity of swirl, and to reduce the average value of torque fluctuation.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize the combustion of an engine in an engine low load condition and a low injection amount condition. SOLUTION: This is a fuel injection control device for an internal combustion engine furnishing a fuel injection valve 1 to inject the fuel pressurized by a fuel feeding pump 2, and when the load from the external side input to an engine is decided to be low depending on the accelerator opening PA and the rotation frequency NE, a control device 6 reduces the pressurizing force of the fuel feeding pump 2 to reduce the fuel pressure, and as a result, the opening speed of the fuel injection valve 1 is increased so as to stabilize the injection amount injected for a short injecting period.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To prevent inferior combustion of an engine by performing control wherein air-fuel mixture in the homogeneous state is formed by a second control means, instead of control wherein air-fuel mixture in the laminated state in a cylinder of the engine is generated by a first control means, when abnormality of an intake air swirl control means is detected. CONSTITUTION: Fuel are directly injected into cylinders 1a of an engine by first combustion injection valves 11. The magnitude of the swirl to be generated in a combustion chamber by the intake air flow to flow into the combustion chambers in the cylinders is controlled by an intake air swirl control means 17 according to the operating state of the engine. The engine is controlled by the first control means so that the stratified air-fuel mixture may be formed into the cylinders according to the operating state of the engine. An abnormality detecting means 29 for detecting abnormalities of the intake air swirl control means 17 is provided on the engine. A second control means is provided for controlling the engine, so that the homogeneous air-fuel mixture may be formed into the cylinders according to the operating state of the engine, instead of the first control means, when the abnormalities of the intake air swirl flow control means 17 are detected by this abnormality detecting means 29.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To completely prevent respectively a misfire from being generated and an NOX generating amount from increasing even when not realized-a desired recirculation rate due to an adjusting delay by actuating together two kinds of fuel injection valves when detected the adjusting delay of recirculated exhaust gas amount. CONSTITUTION:An internal combustion engine is provided with the first fuel injection valve 7 for attaining stratified combustion by directly injecting fuel into a combustion chamber 1 and the second fuel injection valve 10 for attaining uniform combustion by injecting fuel to an intake passage 3 in the downstream of a throttle valve 9. On the other hand, the intake passage 3 in the downstream of the throttle valve 9 communicates with an exhaust passage 5 in an exhaust gas recirculating passage 11, to arrange therein a control valve 12 for controlling a recirculating exhaust gas amount. Here in a control device 20, based on each detection signal from each sensor 21 to 23 for detecting an operating condition of the internal combustion engine, both the fuel injection valves 7, 10 are switched to be actuated. When an adjusting delay of the recirculating exhaust gas amount is detected at switching time, both the fuel injection valves 7, 10 are actuated together.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure a proper fuel injection quantity and thus suppress a deterioration in combustion in a fuel-injection controller having a high-pressure fuel pump for an internal combustion engine. SOLUTION: Fuel injection valves 11 are arranged in the inner peripheral wall portions of a cylinder head 4 in the vicinity of first intake valves 6a and second intake valves 6b in an engine 1, and fuel forcibly fed from a high- pressure fuel pump 72 is directly injected through the fuel injection valves 11 into cylinders 1a. An electronically-controlled unit(ECU) 30 successively obtains actual fuel injection quantities on the basis of the pressure of fuel forcibly fed from the high-pressure fuel pump 72 at the start-up of the engine 1 and integrates them to thereby calculates a total fuel injection quantity from the start of injection up to that time. When the accumulated fuel injection quantity reaches a target fuel injection quantity set at the start-up, the injection is ended. By which control, even under conditions where the fuel pressure is unstable such as in an extremely-low engine speed and the restart of the engine, the fuel injection is set to end on the basis of an actual fuel injection quantity.

Abstract: PURPOSE: To enable combustible mixture to be formed near a spark plug in the ignition timing by making the suitable dispersion time of spray injected during the compression stroke in an injection controller for a cylinder injection- type internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION: An injection controller is constituted of an injection amount calculating means provided with a fuel injection valve for directly injecting fuel into a cylinder of an engine, and for calculating the fuel injection amount to be injected from the fuel injection valve during the compression stroke, an injection completion timing calculating means for calculating the injection completion timing AINJ2 on the basis of the basic fuel injection amount required for one combustion cycle of the engine, and a fuel control means for controlling the fuel injection amount in the compression stroke so that fuel may be injected from the fuel injection valve only for the fuel injection time τ2 by taking the injection completion timing as the reference. The dispersing time of spray after injection is made appropriate by controlling fuel injection by taking the injection completion timing of the fuel as the reference, and combustible mixture suitable for ignition is formed near a spark plug in the ignition timing.

CONSTITUTION:An in-cylinder injection type spark ignition engine is provided with a fuel injection valve 7 for directly injection fuel into a cylinder, a throttle valve 9, a first decision means for deciding an aimed throttle valve opening corresponding to an engine drive condition, and a first driving means 10 for driving the throttle valve 9 so that the aimed throttle valve opening determined by the first decision means is achieved. A detection means 21 for detecting a step-on variation amount of acceleration pedal is also provided, and when the step-on variation amount of acceleration pedal detected by a detection means 20 in a drive region in which the fuel injection valve 7 is used, is greater than a specific value, the aimed throttle valve opening determined by the first decision means is corrected to the side where the intake air amount needed at the time is easily provided, for a specific period of time thereafter by a first correction means.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To maintain the purifying function to almost completely eliminate the liberation of a non-treated exhaust into the atmosphere, by providing a structure of inhibiting the passing of an exhaust through a catalytic converter to cause the exhaust to flow through a bypass passage. CONSTITUTION:An exhaust passage 16 is provided with a catalytic converter 22 for purifying an exhaust. A bypass valve 38 opens or closes a bypass passage 40 directly connecting an inlet 30 and a downstream side exhaust passage portion 26 in a manner to bypass the catalytic converter 22. During generation of a fuel-cut signal, the bypass valve 38 is opened and a catalyst inlet valve 36 is closed, whereby the exhaust coming from an engine 10 passes not through the catalytic converter 22 but through the bypass passage 40, directly flowing into the downstream side exhaust passage 26. During the fuel-cut period, since the temperature of the exhaust is remarkably lowered, a catalyst (carrier) 24 is prevented from being cooled, by such bypassing of the cold exhaust. This keeps the catalyst temperature so as to enable an exhaust to be purified immediately after the next supply of fuel.
