Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the fluctuation of the driving torque when a throttle valve is opened by opening the throttle valve from the idling position while a lock-up clutch is temporarily set to the non-lock-up state during the automatic drive control. CONSTITUTION:An automatic drive control device normally outputs the lock-up signal to a lock-up clutch to set it to the lock-up state, if a constant-speed running command is issued in place of a deceleration running command, the output of the lock-up signal is interrupted, and a signal for opening a throttle valve from the idling position is outputted to an actuator controlling the throttle valve after a fixed period T0 elapses. When the throttle valve is actually opened from the idling position, the output of the lock-up signal is restarted.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To mitigate the hunting frequency by making the control gain converting the vehicle speed deviation into the change quantity of the control duty lower than the normal value when detecting a downhill based on the control duty and detecting the vehicle speed hunting based on the travel vehicle speed. CONSTITUTION:In the duty control type constant-speed travel control, the difference (VM-V) between the memory vehicle speed VM and the travel vehicle speed V is converted into the duty D by the preset control gain G, a throttle actuator 18 is driven by the control duty D added with the standard duty SD to it to perform the constant-speed travel control of a vehicle. A downhill is detected based on the duty average value DM obtained from the control duty D by the moving average method. The vehicle speed hunting is detected based on the travel vehicle speed V. When the vehicle speed hunting on the downhill is detected, an FF 21 is set to make the output Q 1, and the control gain is switched to a value Ga lower than the normal value G1.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent sudden change in torque by reducing the quantity of air which passes through a sub-intake passage prior to carrying out fuel cut at the time of constant speed traveling and intermittently stopping fuel feeding at the time of fuel cut, in a device in which said sub-intake passage is provided so as to detour a throttle valve. CONSTITUTION:A sub-intake passage C having a sub-control valve D is provided on a main intake passage B so as to detour a throttle valve A. And, a fuel feed stopping means E which carries out fuel cut from the time when the throttle valve A is throttled and a fuel feed stopping (fuel cut) condition with an engine speed above a specified value is satisfied till the time when fuel feed return condition is satisfied, is also provided. In a vehicle having such an internal combustion engine, further, a sub-control valve control means I for controlling the sub-control valve D is provided in order to reduce the quantity of air which flows into the sub-intake passage C during a constant speed traveling control and prior to the satisfaction of the fuel cut condition. And, when the fuel cut condition is satisfied, the fuel feeding is intermittently stopped by the stopping means E.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To provide controllability for the car speed to near the target value in insensible zone by furnishing a means to integrate the eccentricity of the target value from the current control amount with a time interval and a weight factor such that the integral of the deviation becomes deviation in the insensible zone. CONSTITUTION:A control circuit 64 is furnished to control operations of a constant-speed running device, and includes an MPU 66, memory 68, input port 70, output port 72, and a bus 73 to connect them together. The input port 70 is connected to various switches and sensors to perform constant-speed running while the output port 72 is connected to actuating transistors 82, 84. The control circuit 64 controls the car speed near to the target value, wherein the deviation integral quantity delta is integrated for every 1.5 sec to produce an increment corresponding to the weight when the car speed SPN has come in the insensible zone, and the min. bit of the data to determine the duty ratio is changed when the integral quantity delta corresponding to the deviation in the insensible zone has varied in an amount corresponding to the speed change at the time the min. bit is changed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the gear shift operation of an automatic speed change gear on an ascending slope from be frequently performed (busy shift), by enabling the transmission limiting function of the constant speed running controller to be started from the outside, and by enabling the limiting function to be released until the inclina tion of the slope is lowered below a predetermined value. CONSTITUTION:A constant speed running controller A carries out the on and off-control of a control valve by an output duty ratio value D in accordance with the difference between a running vehicle speed Vn and a desired vehicle speed VM stored in a mem ory. Meanwhile, a comparator CMP1 sets its output to 1 to set a flip-flop FF when the vehicle speed Vn is lowered below a predetermined value. Further, when the vehicle speed Vn returns above the predetermined value, a output of the comparator CMP2 is counted by an overdrive return timer TOD for setting the flip-flop FF. Then, the output Q of the flip-flop FF becomes an overdrive cut-off signal which is delivered to an automatic gear shift controller B. In this arrangement such a condition that the inclination of the road surface detected by a vacuum switch is lowered, is added as the condition for resetting the flip-flop FF.

Abstract: PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress deviation between a car speed and a target car speed from increasing in constant speed traveling and suppress the fuel consumption and the noise from deteriorating. SOLUTION: When a throttle is in a fully closed state, whether to downshift or not is determined by whether acceleration a is a downshift determination value, which is set to a smaller value as the car speed deviation ΔV, or the deviation between the car speed V and the target car speed V* becomes larger, or more or not (S102-S122). The use of the downshift determination value can suppress the car speed deviation ΔV from enlarging by quickly downshifting on a steep downslope, and not downshifting in a gentle downslope, if there is some extent of car speed deviation ΔV so that the car speed V can be suppressed from getting smaller than the target car speed V* in a short time with downshifting.

SOLUTION: The target speed Vm, the traveling speed Vn, the last throttle demand opening MAn-1, the torque change amount ΔT, feedback gains G1, G2, and the phase compensating time Tsk are read (step 61), and the speed change amount ΔV is calculated (step 62). The tentative throttle demand opening MBn is calculated (step 63) according to the expression of MBn=MAn-1+G1 *[Vm-(Vn+Tsk*V)], and the throttle demand opening MAn is calculated (step 64) according to the expression MAn=MBn-G2*ΔT. A controller controls a constant traveling actuator according to the throttle demand opening MAn so that the traveling speed may coincide with the target speed.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent repetition of regulation of a car speed, i.e. the occurrence of surge, by a method wherein, during control of constant speed running and when the opening of a throttle valve is reduced to a given value or less, the higher the degree of accelerating of a car speed is, the more the number of fuel injection valves being brought into a rest state is. CONSTITUTION:A title device is provided with an actuator 9 controlling rotation of a throttle valve 6, and a means A controlling drive of the actuator 9 so that a car speed is regulated to a target value. Further, it is provided with a means B detecting the degree of accelerating of a car speed, and a means C detecting the opening of the throttle valve 6. A fuel feed control means D is provided for bringing fuel injection valves 81-84 into a rest state during control of constant speed running by means of the actuator control means A and when the opening of the throttle valve 6 is reduced to a given value of less. In this case, in the fuel feed control means D, the higher the degree of accelerating is, the number of the fuel injection valves being brought into a rest state is increased. This constitution prevents the occurrence of surge when a vehicle is running on a down slope as constant speed running is controlled.

Abstract: PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of surge during running downhill, by stopping fuel cut control under constant speed running control. CONSTITUTION:An actuator 9 for constant speed running control is connected to a throttle valve 6 in a suction pipe 4. A fuel control circuit 48 may carry out fuel cut at deceleration or the like. When a control device 30 receives a signal from a vehicle speed sensor 10 or the like, and detects that a detected vehicle speed has become greater than a target vehicle speed by a predetermined value or more, the control circuit 30 operates to drive the fuel control circuit 48 and carry out fuel cut. However, when a deviation in vehicle speed is less than the predetermined value, the fuel cut is inhibited. Accordingly, the generation of surge during running downhill may be prevented.
