SOLUTION: The envelope tracking power supply circuit 5 generates an output voltage based on an envelope of the high-frequency signal. PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of control relating to distortion compensation using a reference signal (pilot signal) in an amplifier wherein the reference signal is composed with a signal of an amplification target, and the control relating to the distortion compensation is performed by using the relevant reference signal. SOLUTION: The amplifier comprises a distortion detection loop in which the signal of the amplification target is amplified by an amplifier 3 and a distortion component contained in the relevant amplified signal is detected, and a distortion elimination loop in which the distortion component detected by the distortion detection loop is used to eliminate the distortion component from the relevant amplified signal, the signal which becomes the amplification target is detected by amplification target signal detecting means 11-13, 21 and when it is detected by the amplification target signal detecting means that the signal of the amplification target is not inputted, reference signal control means 21, 15 perform control so as not to output the reference signal.
